I was explaining myself to a self defined two-spirit individual at my local trans support meeting and as I was doing so...I got an image in my mind that needed to be painted. Now...I'm no great painter...not even a decent painter in my opinion but...I do like the process. I have a set of water color crayons that I really like because of their bold colors.

You see my male side and female side are not separate from each other entirely...we're blended in the middle. :) I'm pleased with how it turned out. Thought I'd share.
I'm also the spouse to the fabulous Mrs. Cynthialee.

That's nice, I like it.

I'm just the purple bit.

Thanks all :)

Pica, I do try to live in the purple zone...easier said than done sometimes, and simple bliss other times. :D

I think the other parts atrophied.

I really like that, Sevan- what a beautiful way to capture the essence of bigender!

What a great way to symbolize being bi-gendered! :D

you know, seeing that drawing, it made so much sense now.
I was having trouble understanding the bigender thing, but didn't thought about seeing what it was like haha
So thanks for doing it, makes it very clear for me.

PS. I'm the white part.

that looks nice, sevan. made me wonder what i'd look like in a color representation, i haven't really thought much about myself in pictures before

Sevan

Thanks both. :) I'm glad it can make sense!

I really like it, and I see it evolving. It makes me think of variations on a theme. The simplicity, yet say's so much at the same time.

Thanks :) It's my style. I love shapes. I can't draw, or paint really...so I tend to stick to circles, squares, triangles and shard shapes to tell my story. I did a family picture forever ago..might as well share it here:
There's me (the purple circle) my honey (the blue square) and our cats and dogs...all housed under our safe home/roof. :)

I usually use this art as a means to express anger, frustration...sadness...like this:

I'd love to see any art you do, or think of. I"m actually thinking of a variation on this that I may or may not end up drawing out. We'll see. For now...I'm very pleased with this one. :)

you're good. i like your shapes and colors. i can't do half as good, or at least that's what i think

I don't have any right now, I always give them away.
But, I bought a big set of acrylics to paint with and I'm starting to get the feeling going.
Mine are just lines where I think they should be, same with color...blending does happen.

very interesting!
I would describe it as "minimal abstract"
I get from the last drawing, "between the wall and a hard place", right?
the little triangles are attacking the purple circle which is backing down to a corner.
Simple and to the point.

The house one I'm not sure, I feel you tried too hard with the house. Unless there's a story there I don't know.

I have posted some other stuff before in here.
I also like posting my stuff evrywhar! though I feel I'd hijack the thread.

Nice Z.
Yea..my stuffs abstract but it all came from an inability to draw in any kind of literal way. Lol. Then I decided I kinda liked it. The "family portrait has no story...I didn't really try too hard...just drawing out my family at the time. Me, my spouse, my dog and two cats. :) that's all. That's the whole story. Hehe

Very beautiful art Sevan! You have a gift for translating a lot of these complex feelings into something simple, accessible, and meaningful. :)
