I used to play a LOT of online games. Not so much anymore because mmorpgs are proving to all be the same old grindfest, but I played a lot when I was younger.

Probably the best I played would be:
6. Flyff. Not the best game and the company asks for a lot of money for cash items, but it killed some time.
5. LaTale. It was fun for a while, but it eventually just got annoying regardless of all the pretty animations. Again, grindfest.
4. Dungeon Fighter Online. Has some really fun PVP but it gets very grindy at later levels. The game was and for the most part still is pretty fun to play though, even by myself!
3. Grand Chase. One of my favorite online games, but the community turned to real ->-bleeped-<-. Too many whiners and it got VERY grindy at later levels.
2. Team Fortress 2. It can get old and can fill me with rage after a while, but it's really fun. I wish I could play the computer version, though.
1. Ragnarok Online. This was my first and best mmorpg, and private servers are awesome.

I haven't played online games in forever. Mostly I stick to single player games now. It cuts down on a LOT of drama, that's for sure. With online games I found that whenever you made friends or got into a guild, they all expected you to be there all the time. If you weren't you would be left behind. Not to mention now I can help out around the house without worrying that my friends will get mad at me for leaving the game. Cutting down on online gaming has really been a stress reliever in the end.

Speaking of La Tale, I was browsing through job postings the other day and saw that OGPlanet was looking for a Game Master in my area....and the salary was CRAP. It was like $10/hr lol

Although it's not a game per se, I've been playing Second Life for a couple years now.  SL is a 3D virtual reality simulator with hundreds of thousands of players from around the world.  You can go to dance clubs, surf at the beach, fly an airplane, launch yourself into outer space, live in a tree house (I do), ski the Alps, command a starship (I have) or anything else your imagination can devise.

The great thing about SL is your avatar can be pretty much anything you want.  Be your opposite sex, be both sexes, or neither.  Be a super hero, an orc, a Transformer or a bowl of petunias.  It's a lot of fun and it's free!   SecondLife.com

Oh wow, a position as GM does NOT sound fun to me haha. It might have a long time ago but I've grown way out of that stage. I'm sure that's a job for someone, but it definitely doesn't fill my cup of tea! I guess I don't blame them for the lame salary though, since all of their games are free to play and rely almost entirely on cash shop sales.

@Ember I've heard a lot about Second Life but I've never actually bothered to play it. Is it free?

You can play Second Life for free and there are a lot of things for your avatar (shapes, skins, hair, clothes, shoes, cars, airplanes, boats, houses etc...) that are free too!

You can download the official viewer from SecondLife.com but I prefer the 3rd party Phoenix viewer from phoenixviewer.com.  Both are free.

The basic starter avatars don't look all that great so let me know here if you want some assistance in sprucing yourself up.  :D

I was on SL for a little while, didn't really stick for me.

The only online game I've really been hooked on is Call of Duty 4.  Best PvP shooter I've ever played.  :)

I almost forgot about Dofus and Wakfu! I used to play those all the time :D. They're kind of like Final Fantasy Tactics or Disgaea but they're online and you only play as one character. They're p2p though :(.

Oh, and Diablo II! Oh wow, I don't know how I forgot that one. I used to play that all the time! I even got to level 70ish online, even though my character was built horribly. Also Starcraft and Starcraft 2. They're the only RTS games I play and I suck at them, but they're fun!

Was doing Wow until bad customer service, now thinking of going back to Rift until Star Wars comes out in 2 months.
