how common is it to develop problems with the female sex organs when on T. this guy skylarkeleven on youtube has a cyst on his right ovary. how common are problems like this for people on T?

I cheated and had it all removed soon as I could. I do hear of cysts happening a bit frequently but not like over half or something. The pain you feel could be a number of things, including just your body fighting the T.

I don't think there's a lot of good scientific data on this.

Anyone with ovaries has the chance of developing cysts - and there are different types of cysts and obviously different causes. The following are possible risk factors for developing ovarian cysts:
History of previous ovarian cysts
Irregular menstrual cycles
Increased upper body fat distribution
Early menstruation (11 years or younger)
Infertility
Hypothyroidism or hormonal imbalance
Tamoxifen (Soltamox) therapy for breast cancer

I'm yet to read literature to link T therapy in FTMs to ovarian cysts... But obviously changes in hormones, irregular periods etc is possible connection. FWIW...

I want mine removed. I haven't read about links with testosterone and ovarian cysts, but I do know that unused organs are more likely to get cancerous without your noticing right away.

My mom had teeth and hair growing in one of her ovarian cysts. Eww. And she was a standard ciswoman. My maternal grandmother had similar problems. Stuff happens. I don't see the need for unnecessary chances. Insurance and money barriers make for necessary chances, of course. I certainly can't get that surgery yet.

I only have one ovary. The other was removed when I was 14 due to a grapefruit sized cyst that twisted the fallopian tube and killed the ovary.

The teeth and hair thing still gives me the heebie-jeebies. I googled it, and one lady had a partial jaw and tongue growing in an ovary. Lol. That didn't help at all.

I'm not on T yet, but I have yet to find much information on testosterone and ovarian cysts. The only two? of those that I fall under (other than previous ovarian cysts) are irregular menstrual cycles and possible infertility (due to low weight, small hip size, and irregular uterine shape, so said my first gyn). I get ovarian cysts frequently. About every two to three months I have a rupture... All the more motivation to push at getting the whole mess removed before it kills me... =A=

I wondered that as well. Skylarkeleven pwns but I was seriously sad to hear that O_O plus all the probs he is having with insurance

Ha that was my first thought ... Cronenberg movie.

But I have heard of that before - weird tumors growing other body parts. It creeped me out so I didn't really look further into why that happens!
