Hi everyone,

As a guy I never taken any precautions about my security. Walking alone late at night, sleeping in the subway or following perfect stranger I just met in a bar. I never had any problems.

Lately, I met this CD on the net, she said her name was Sacha. We started chatting for a while and she was really nice and comprehensive. We got very close. So one day, she asked me if I wanted to go shopping, I said of course. She said I will pick you up and we will go to the mall. I will dress up and meet you.
Ok, I gave her my address and waited for her to pick me up.
When someone knocked at the door later, I did go checked. By the pipe hole in my door I saw a men. I asked who are you? He said Sacha. I asked, waren't you suppose to be dress like a women? He said.... I am dress baby.
But I can see that he is not :( he has one hand in is pocket and is waiting for me to open the door.
I started to yell at him like crazy through the door. Hopefully he fled.

I was so nervous. For the first time in my live, I was scared to go out and just live. I was so mad and shaky, the only thing I wanted was to vomit.
The little girl inside me took it hard. I use to always trust everyone blindly but now I am so sad knowing there is people who want to harm other.

I have learn my lesson. You must think I am careless, naive and gullible and it's true. I like to think everyone is nice and beautifull.

But now as a women I can't think like that anymore. We have to stay alert.

Thanks,
Sérénité :(

That is very true for women, we do have to be careful and alert.  And it's honestly something I hadn't thought about either until a few months before I transitioned.  Being alert and cautious can save your life.  It's one of those lessons we learn much later than GG's, because we weren't raised and socialised as women.

In my opinion, whether your male or female, giving your home address to someone you have only talked with on the internet isn't wise.

It would seem best to always meet for the first time in a public setting where either of you could leave (or not even meet) with relative saftey.
