Frizzy-haired Spork (Savannah Stehlin) is a 14-year-old intersex person who is having a hard time fitting in: living in a trailer; an outcast at school, constantly being bullied for their biology. But some inspiring words by fellow outsider Chunk (Kevin Chung) are a revelation, leading to a rebellion against popular girl Betsy Byotch (Rachel Fox). With the school dance-off coming up, trailer neighbour Tootsie Roll (Sydney Park) is enlisted to teach some moves that might just win Spork the prize. But will Betsy get her revenge before the curtain falls?

MEDICINE continues on its merry way hacking at intersex newborns' genitals and brainwashing them into believing they are the sex the doctors want them to be. That is the kind of "normalization" intersex people most certainly do not want.

An example of the kind of normalization we do need, though, is when a film director writes an intersex character into a film and they are anything but an archetypal tragic freak or monster. Being written into a comedy film is even better.
