Who wasn't craving a BLT until I mentioned it? Who was getting ready to have one anyway? And the $64,000 question, how many pieces of bacon do you use for a sandwich?

I love bacon!!!!

I usually use 2-3 pieces when I make a bacon sandwich

Bacon is the crack cocaine of food.  I'll just take the hot strips, fresh from the grill, sizzling - all nice and crunchy, and thick.  Yummo-O.  Pretty much proof that being an omnivore has it's own rewards.

The real question begging to be asked is:
How may slices of bacon get cooked vs the number that actually make it onto the sammy?

Joanne, that is known as B.A. or bacon attrition. Scientists can't figure it out. It's the dark matter of the food universe!

Now if only they could find a way to make bacon just as tasty without it being so greasy...

Outdoor camping gold as well.  Fried potatoes tastes great out there with it.  Take a cleaned used metal bean can with a top, pour the excess grease from breakfast into the can, let cool, put the top on, put in cooler. 
  BLT only in summer when my tomatoes ripen.  The store bought, even the expensive hothouse types don't compare.  Two strips per sandwich, any more does not add to the flavor, extra strips do not make it to the sandwich.  I only have the potatoes, bacon and egg breakfast when camping.  NEVER put your fresh good tomatoes in your refrigerator or cooler, it kills the tang!

Just for the record, I've been a vegetarian for 16 years, but lol this is the most awesome thread title ever. 

The USA has great bacon really thin so you can crisp it up. Australia seems to go for a thicker cut which is difficult to crisp, still tastes great. I've never been a BLT girl but I love bacon toast sandwich, preferably with cream cheese on the toast.

Never thought of keeping the fat/grease, what a great idea. The added flavour would make a sort of frying stock.

Mmm dinner time.

A little paper kitchen towel is very handy where bacon is concerned..

True that, The butcher at the supermarket puts packages of fresh cut thick bacon slices out at a good price    Living alone, I don't need a big package of the thin sliced pre-packaged stuff... I get better quality bacon for less coin and it all gets eaten were as the pre-packaged stuff will cost more and will go bad about half way through

Hard to go past a fried-egg and bacon sanger with HP sauce. 

Apparently the smell of bacon cooking brings more vegetarians unstuck than anything else.
