OMG

i have been at uni for nearly a month and have been in stealth, no one knows.
But today when the post came my like flat have 1 box for all of our post, the uni doctor sent me something in my old name !!!!!!
My flat mates saw it cos they went to get the post and just posted it under my door as it had my flat number on it.

OMG why would the stupid doctor do that, when i have changed my name on the uni system and everything.

What if they suspect im trans, what do i do now :(:(:(:(

Call your doc and ask why they're sending mail to your old name?

When I was first getting hormones the person at the Dr's office insisted on calling out my old name every visit, even after my name change. I just didn't respond until my correct name was called. It got to the point that I said outright if this foolishness didn't stop I would find a new doctor.

Yah, I agree. Contact the doctor. That is so uncool. As a service provider they should send you mail in the name you prefer.

It probably wasn't the doctor.  It was their staff.  I dropped three different doctors because of incompetent staff.

Sorry about what happened :(

What do you do?  Deny Deny Deny.   "Office probably transposed the 1st name.  You know, they get interrupted by a patient at the window & forget where they are."

I had that happened once at my School and at my Job. I said "huh, why are they sending things to me under my dad's name?" It worked for me. Then I just let it go quickly and tried not to overreact in front of them. Then they thought nothing of it and moved on.

I hope that helps/

I'm sorry that happened to you. I feel your pain. But it's not the end of the world. Besides, if I were one of your mates and saw you as genetically female, I wouldn't suspect you were trans. I would think they put the wrong name by mistake. People don't automatically assume your trans when these sort of things happen unless they suspected it from the very beginning.

I agree. People will think it was a mistake before they think trans.

As far as the emotional impact of being sent mail in your old name is concerned, there's not much I can offer you besides consolation by commiseration. But as far as being discovered is concerned, I can honestly tell you that even if the mailbox is common, you can just lie your way out of a different name. Say it's a cousin who's out of town for a bit, and you're saving his mail. Say it's a typo, or that you honestly have no idea who that person is. Say that it's an improperly delivered letter, and that it's for someone else with your last name. Anything will do, people don't put very much thought into other peoples' lives. Humans are surprisingly egocentric, and that can be used to transsexuals' advantage.
