in all honesty, the majority of women dont wear makeup everyday.  if you wanna look at the target audience for companies like covergirl, loreal, revlon, etc, its teenage girls.

Got the statistics/proof for that statement?

I am only going by what I see and I serve lots of women in cosmetics. None of them are teenage girls.. 20-45

i'm gonna take an asumption that you work at a cosmetics counter in a department store?  if you want the statitstics, just look at a cosmetic commercial.......very very few target middle age to older women.

Well yeah. But women at 40+ still wear makeup.

Makeup is a pain to learn. I've been doing makeup regularly for six months or so (when I started dressing as a girl regularly) and it's still an annoying process of trial and error. Yesterday it took me nearly twenty minutes just to apply eyeliner the way I wanted to. It's easy to see why some people would give up on it.

Yes, dear. You have been smoted, dealt a heavy blow. The smiters are showing their displeasure at your opinion. Not a very christian act.

this thread is about makeup. Not about Christianity. If you want to discuss the interpretative methods of Christianity, there is a forum for that.

I couldnt quote a comment because the topic was locked, so I copied and pasted:  comment from annah in the "how tall are you guys" thread yesterday at 10:36am :
"Your trollish comments have no effect on me. I know who I am. I love my physical and spiritual body. You using this passive aggressive attempt of trolling is kinda fruitless. I don't care if you say I do not pass. I already found you out to be a chronic lier so I already learned to not take you seriously."

now apparently, annah can use the term "troll" and variations of, and it's ok but if another member uses the term "troll" then that warrants a smite......yes, I'm calling you out on this one, you cant have a dual standard!

I wear makeup to work, to my date last night, just about everywhereother than when exercising. It covers my blemishes, makes my skin tone look marvelous and my eyes sexy. I love it.

I especially love sheisedo cream to powder foundation.

No I haven't, but I do have a facial treatment from Nuskin that has a hand-held galvanic device for making skin look wonderful. Going to use it tonight.

Some jobs really kinda demand that a girl wear the stuff.

As I am disabled I do not work anymore. But if I did I would not wear the stuff to work.
I am was a profesional line cook.

Make up won't last an hour in that environment. I have seen the cooks line ruin a waitress's makeup in a few minutes as she stops into discuss the meals she has ordered with the cook.

i have a lot of freckles and was my main reason for using foundation.  so what I did was many chemical peels and at the advice of my esthetitician, started using the bleaching cream and retin a........no more freckles, no more blemishes a nice clean complexion..........however, i do need to use a high spf sunscreen when outside to prevent freckles from reappearing

~That's because they don't really need to; older women are already hooked by then.... :P Everyone knows the big money is in the (much larger) anti-aging market, and makeup is a large part of that. The industry is always trying to reach the younger generations so they can turn them into lifelong product junkies too—and perpetuate their very successful business model indefinitely.

I'm a gg (or whatever you want to call me), and I have worn make up since my teens.  I don't know, as someone else here said, I like to look pretty and my best for myself and how it makes me feel.  I take pride in my appearance and keep my weight down and refuse to "let myself go".  Some people actually look better without make up, so know yourself, and do what's best for you. I know in some respects this seems shallow, but really if you feel good about how you look, your self-esteem is higher.  I try my best at everything I do, whether it's work or hobbies or sports.  So, I think looking your best when out and about is similar. When I see unkempt, sloppy, fat people, I wonder what they're thinking, and that they must not feel good about themselves.  Looks are very important to men who are looking to date.  I know it's not necessarily right or fair, but it's pretty much a fact.  I have a friend who is overweight, and dresses very sloppily and doesn't wear make up, and she is trying to meet a man, a lifetime partner.  She is on a dating site and doesn't have a picture up front, so she gets a few bites, due to her profile and wonderful personality, but when she sends them a picture, they disappear. Fair? Absolutely not. Realistic? Absolutely.  Physical attraction is a big part of romance, and no one is shallow if they simply are not physically attracted to a person, despite their wonderful personalities.  You can't help it if you're not feeling it.   A person wants, needs to be attracted to their romantic partner. I do think you can become attracted to a person, due to their personality and other characteristics, but why not give yourself a better chance.  It's so hard to find a romantic partner, that you should give yourself every chance possible.
