Weird. Almost 4 weeks into HRT now, and pretty much all my back hair is gone. Gone where? It's not in my bed, I suppose it must have fallen from me like a gentle rain during the day... ;D. This is promising - now if the same thing would only happen to my chest hair, I'd be a very happy bunny.

Padma, after almost 4 years virtually ALL body hair gone, non-existent never really having to do anything with underarms, chest and legs at all! Why beard can't co-operate is to our utter *frustration* am doing electro slowly as finances allow . . .

Am told, being the luckiest older tgirl that I am, have always had nicer head hair than most gg's which I attribute, only in part due of course to genetics helping too,, to absolute combined T/DHT blocker "casodex" which  I take in lieu of, sometimes in conjuction with, everything else. Look forward to posting *real pic* one of these days and plan on telling Dr Z, with "wendy" next month in Chicago, "wanna look just like this avatar"(above) so lol nobody will notice switch when actually, forever *hopefully* happens!

( ps: oh yea! for all u "orchi" freaks out there *achm wendy* my testes have also almost completely receded to the point 1 cannot see them anymore even when standing up )

Cheers!
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

It's been roughly 1.5 months since I've started T block and I'm losing hair from my lower back and my chest / torso. I get in the shower and run my hands over my chest and pull like 15 strands of hair out everytime lol! I wish my leg and arm hair would go away. I really don't wanna spend a bunch of money on hair removal.

Facial hair is a monster, ugh I'm sooo sick of shaving my face. And it's dark dark black hair so it shows up even right after shaving!

I love turning more womanly, I have never been so happy :)
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Hey there I am new here and a M-F, I started HRT about 2 months ago, I have a quick question about hormone amounts and hair, could you please email me or send me a message since we can't talk about amounts on the boards?! Thanks so much.

Hi, I don't have anything useful to say about dosages - that's something best discussed with a health care professional. In any case, the one thing I've learned from this site is that people's experience on hormones varies enormously depending on all sorts of factors.

You will find dosages vary so much from person to person. That is why an endocrinologist is important in ensuring you are on the correct 'mones etc.

Just on facial hair. It has been since July for my last laser on the upper lip. It looks like it will need it again soonish, but the rest of the old mug has stayed hair free

I was just curious as to what your sprio does was starting out since we both started HRT around the same time. I have a lot of hair on my back and torso, so I would just curious as to what to look for since I have only started Sprio last week, but I started Estrodiol about 4 weeks ago. I do have an endo. that I get my hormones through, so there is no Self-medicating here.

I think I've has a total of about 9 sessions. The first session was split into three one hour treatments as she did, each side as one session, my chin and neck as another and my upper lip separately. She did 6 week passes between sessions to allow a different hair growth cycle. The second session took an hour to do my total face, after that my hair growth was really cut down and she could do my entire face in 20 mins, so we started on my boobs and tummy and bikini line.

She is a registered nurse and the facility was created for woman with POCs, so they had very modern high power machines. As nurses they were very aware of the dangers.  I was the first TG MtF they had done. They were absolutely great, and I became very happy to have the sessions not only for the hair clearence but also for the social chat we have as well.

I was also given a test patch to make sure my hair would respond. I got a total ongoing lesson in looking after my skin as well

I noticed in the newspaper this week that a number of people have suffered bad burns and have been 'branded' and disfigured by laser people who were not correctly trained, this is in Australia, so there is now a campaign for proper licencing of people.

I am extremely happy with the results and the care I have received. Cost wise I have probably paid about $3000?

Amazing. My body hair after 10 months doesn't seem to be reduced at all. Hairy boobs (if you can call them that :p), that gosh-forsaken belly hair.... and back hair. Gross!

I wonder. Would taking finasteride help solve this problem? I shouldn't have much if any DHT floating around, but that's just theory. Perhaps I do, eh?

I'm hopelessly hopeful. Too stubborn to give up :p. Getting electrolysis for my whole torso doesn't sound like a level of fun I want to approach....

I don't want to promise you anything here in case you're just genetically really hairy, but usually all your body hair will subside in time. You just gotta be patient and watch as it grows thinner and lighter every day.
I think hair around the nipples stays with you forever but eventually turns into tiny blonde hairs that you can't even see. Electrolysis shouldn't be necessary anywhere besides your face and/or neck.

This calls for a limerick! *********We know you've been weaving a while, and using your loom makes you smile. Your missing back hair, has become a nice pair, of socks made from Padmargyle!

Well, I can only hope. Genetically, my family is... not very hairy. my father was kinda hairy, but my mom and sister have very little hair whatsoever. My genes have been great for a lot of hormone-related things. Like, my mom and sister are very large-breasted. However, I appear to have not inherited that one...

Sometimes I give up thinking I'm just immune to hormones. It isn't true - I've seen a little. Just not as much as I'd hoped. Perhaps things will change after my SRS next year. Otherwise, it's electrolysis. Wouldn't be terribly time-consuming - as hairy as I feel like I am, compared to a grown man, or any man, I really have very little. I have enough hair to be a hairy woman. It shouldn't be as radically expensive as I might think - it might be a larger area than the face, but it's also a lot less dense!

But yeah, finasteride might be something to look at. Idk. Otherwise, I cling to a hope and a prayer.

Actually, electrolysis can be pretty expensive. Even if you don't have a lot of facial hair, the price adds up because you will still need to have a LOT sessions in order to kill each hair follicle since they need to zap the same hair follicle multiple times before it's damaged enough to never grow back again. Probably like 100 times for each hair follicle. I dunno...
I think most electrologists charge about fifty to eighty dollars an hour? Mine charges $55 an hour.

Jordan,

Did you try Laser yet? If your avatar is "U"...you look like a Fitzpatrick Type 1, maybe a 2 at most, light, fair skin, never or lightly tans, dark hair, perfect for LHR!
You should try Laser before Electrolysis for everything expect the Genitals (if your Surgeon for SRS requires hair removal, McGinn highly recommends it). I have had 3 sessions on my face and 1 for my Chest and Abs, but will need Electrolysis for the light/white hairs on my face that Laser can't zap. The first Chest/Abs session cleared approx. 75% of the hair, plan on 3 more, second one is due next week. Any questions on Laser please PM me, I'm also a CLT  (Certified Laser Tech).

I 'aven't tried laser on my torso, no. The hair is... finer. That is, not quite as dark and coarse as facial hair. Some of the belly hair is probably laserable (like, the "trail" and around the belly button...), but most of the hair on my torso is dark and fine. And mind that I started hormones at seventeen. Hopefully I have less growth than many... A good alexandrite could MAYBE grab some of it, but I would be very concerned about induced growth on many areas. And yes, the avatar is... me. Not very much of me, but I am almost as pale as the pic would lead you to believe!

Oh, yes. I mean relatively speaking! However, a skilled electrologist should only need to "zap" a hair once, depending, of course, on the modality. Thermolysis is a bit like laser in that repetition can be necessary. But yeah, like compared to laser, it can be pretty wildly expensive. I pay some really good prices for my laser - after a little negotiation, I found as little as $50/session. The average was $100/session for full face and neck. The reduced prices were because, they said, I had less hair than average to start with. I'm thankful I don't have any on my cheeks, for one. :D
