How is it to pee after surgery?
Sorry for strange question, but I'm curious, it come to my mind when I was at toilet yesterday and I must to know 
Especially that finish "pull" to squeeze what remain in urethra

People say it's horrible the first few months. You make a mess everywhere because of the swelling.

It's kind of like holding your thumb over a garden hose.  You spray everywhere! 

It improves over time.  And emptying your urethra is much simpler because you have so much less of it!

The first pee was very strange, but very wonderful at the same time....

I'm only 12 days out and it doesn't seem that bad. My swelling went down a lot already from what I can see and its mostly pretty straight forward.

like Sandy said it's easier.  You don't have to "pull" at all.  In fact, my surgeon told me this is not healthy to even try because it can cause UTI's.  Instead you just sit there till it stops, lol

How is to pee after surgery......relief, naturally. 

As stated, just sit there, it flows out, wipies and then on your way.

Don't I know that one, have come very very very close to not making the bathroom a few times.

It's far easier for me.  It flows readily and, when it stops, you're done.  There is nothing left to "squeeze out".

     You just need to remember to be certain that there IS toilet tissue available before you sit down...   

and not everyone is uncontrolled from the beginning...some surgeons seem to be better in that regard. 

But yeah...definitely check to make sure there is TP.  If there isn't and you didn't realize it, just be comfortable in knowing that almost every woman has been in the same position before. 

The funny thing is, that "last squirt" muscle is still there, it reacts and you can feel it, except it does nothing.
As mentioned, you just go until it stops and that's it.

Immediately post-surgery the important thing is that you can pee.
Initially it might be like your upstairs neighbors having an overflowing tub, it just leaks through the ceiling everywhere.
Eventually it will stabilize to a nice stream.

I remember my first time.  Still swollen of course and along with a little nervousness thinking "Is it going to work?", I just sat there and "voila" I pee'd.  As mentioned above, a little messy while there is swelling but it doesn't take long for that to go away.  I have to agree as well that when you have to pee, You Have To Pee.  I have found that, when caught short, I can hold on a little long if I contract my tummy muscles.

Well, there was a mention of that "last squirt muscle" to empty the extra urethra length...

Wouldn't that just be the same PC muscle any natal female use too when doing her Kegel exercises (pelvic floor exercise) ?

This same muscle also used for our 'scrunchie' when doing a # 2, not so?

I had trouble with the stream hitting the front of the toilet and spraying back at me or I would have to lean far forward.  Dr. Meltzer said I had the narrowest urethra he had ever seen.  I had it revised with my labiaplasty, but still think I have to kinda lean forward a bit.  otherwise, you just pee untill you are done. 

It can be messy but I got lucky I guess because it's never been really too bad. Except for when everything swelled up right away post-surgery and I had to literally hold my lips apart just to go pee.

As for that last little squeeze....you dont need to anymore Theres a little less urethra involved than before hehe

Just a quick note.

Many genetic women have messy urine streams which can result from large labia.

One of my girlfriends many years ago used to have to lean forward to ensure that the stream didn't hit the seat.

Another one used to hold her legs tightly together to avoid the same problem.

So if you think that you are not peeing properly then you are probably wrong.

That;s the good news!

At best like Niagara Falls (if bladder is well full) - at worst some spraying or similar, like a bad spout? :-)

This after 5 weeks post-op and still having some puffy inner lips.

At times still want to 'shake off' - eh, now nothing to shake but your booty :-)

Old habits die slow :-)

Axelle. After you're done peeing, are you really done peeing? Or do you wet your panties a bit afterwards?

no after I'm done I'm done.
It's not like in older 'male plumbing' that quite some may stay behind and then leak out later - I had that issue at some time back pre-op.
I then always had to squeeze some place behind the penis to make sure all was out best as could be.
This issue is obviously no more, due to the shortened urethra as well due to its more backward anatomical position.
Initially, the first few days/weeks one has this 'expectation' (brain mapping) that something would come out in front where the previous exit was and now it comes out way back from there, it needs a little while for the brain mapping to get the message.
This can lead the first few days post-op to not being able to easily empty the bladder. It happened to me, but then it started to work after 3 - 4 days and some interim ( 2days) re-catheterising :-)
