I am becoming a new patient with a Doctor here in town and she wants me to have a letter from my therapist. Now I have no problem complying because I have a therapist who will gladly write the letter. My question is after twenty years on hormones am I going to have to prove that I meet some standard before I can get a prescription for my HRT? I will have the letter with me when I go to see her, but I am going to tell her what I think of her requiring it. I have been on hormones now for 20 months and full-time for almost a year and a half. At what point will I no longer have to prove I am who I say I am.

good question.  I am moving to a new state so I will be switching doctors so it is relevant to me as well.  I would assume that you could simply ask your old doctor to fax all of your information to your new doctor, or just keep the original letter to give to any new doctor.

it would be pretty silly to have to keep getting letters every time you need a new doctor, like wise I think its silly that I have ot get a letter for top surgery when I am already on T for a year and living full time, but that's another story.
