Wiping issue is due to having a hairy crack not digestion related.

LMAO!!

I'm definitely not looking forward to a hairier ass.

I'm happy that most people seem to be happy after getting on T and have relatively little side effects, but it's not for everyone. I was one of those people where it didn't work out. A couple years ago I tried it to see if it did improve my self image. Because I had almost immediate reactions to it, I stopped very early on. I've been in my body long enough now to know when something just doesn't feel right. Things I experienced were feeling generally ill (like flu and nausea) after shots, increased aggressiveness, moodiness and depression, increased sex drive, increased blood pressure and heart palpitations. To me, it wasn't worth it to risk my heath, especially since I had no plan to transition.

Similar to what insideontheoutside said...if I'm unable to get my heart health under control without other medication, I intend on stopping T.

Do you think it could have been what the T was suspended in? I've heard of people having reactions to that.

Do you think a different method or dose could help?

As far as I know it was just an oil - like cottonseed and I don't have an allergy to any oils.

I've been on T for just 7 months now and so far...

Pros: voice started deepening pretty quickly, losin fat/gaining muscle easier, no periods since my first shot, downstairs growth, nearly instant under chin neck beard thing where I used to have straggly long hairs..., calmer,  more motivated to get out and do stuff.

Cons: Voice cracking. It was embarrassing as hell when it cracked during (female) puberty and it's still embarrassing now. sweat like mad, acne on face and back, hair thinning again despite the rogaine, and some body hair where I'd rather not have it (back, upper arms etc).

It might be able to help but I can't afford any other methods than injection. It's just...frustrating (see: things on my cons list...one of them is increased frustration lol)

do you regret starting it? And, are you doing the cream or shots? Sorry to pry, I'm just about to start taking T and looking for advice; trying to know everything, etc

I'm on shots every other week.

I'm not really sure. I mean, I miss my nice smooth skin, weighing less and my thick hair on my head and being hairless on the body. If I start to have health problems or I lose my hair or my acne becomes out of control... I dunno. I'm just dealing and trying to get through this until my skin clears up and the acne goes away. I don't want to go bald and I don't want to end up having a hysto if I don't need one. Top surgery is the only surgery I plan on getting. So hopefully I can take something that will stop my hair from falling out and hope my insides don't give me a problem. If they do, I'm not sure what will happen.

I'm curious as to what you were hoping T could provide to you?

Deeper voice and looking more masculine, more muscle, and I kinda want facial hair too. I'd like to grow a go-t.(however you spell it) But if I don't get any, that's okay.  I was actually just looking through some old photos, not really sure how old they are. I think they might be from either 2009 or 2010, but I can see from these pics that I do look more masculine now. But just before I transitioned I think I do look the same  now.

how do you feel about the DHT blocker pills? the side effects are terrifying for sure, but I've seen some videos other ftms have done where they said they had some luck with hair loss prevention. a good portion of the side effects seem to affect things that won't matter to us anyway like dysfunction and prostate cancer, though other parts of it like mental changes and chance of male breast cancer and breast growth make it seem so not worth it.

this is actually something I am giving a lot of thought too as well, given genetics and naturally fine hair. I am super cautious about taking pills though so dunno how I'll make the call if it happens. Also not sure who prescribes it to you. the endo or whoever gives you the T? I guess I could just ask the doctor how they want to handle it.

This is really funny from a mtf perspective, all of the pros form a laundry list of things I want to stamp out my body with steel toed boots.

I've been on T for a year and a half

Pros:  No monthly hell, increased muscle mass, increased strength, tougher skin, deeper voice, facial hair, looking more masculine, losing weight, downstairs growth, darker and thicker body hair, more confidence, increased assertion ability, developing male friendships, being more congruent to myself and others.

Cons:  Acne both face and body, although it's mostly under control now thanks to retina-A, increased anger, aggression and irritability issues, making others nervous without meaning too, not knowing my own strength, being out of sync to others guys I know due to lack of childhood conditioning, increased hunger

I'm not sure. I was just talking to the nurse today and she said to try rogaine. So I might try that. I'm just not sure when to start it. I mean, I do notice now my hair is thinning and I can see my scalp but I'm not balding yet. I'm not sure if I should wait or try rogaine now. I guess I'll have to ask my endo dr. about that.

I think your endo doctor prescribes to you the DHT blocker pills. Rogaine might be worth a try. I don't know the side effects of that, but it's something I'm looking into doing. I don't like pills either. Are you on T?
  •

emil

start rogaine now. every hair you lose is a hair you will lose forever, though rogaine does bring some hair back, these will fall off again when you stop using rogaine. The DHT blockers are the only effective method to prevent DHT-induced hair loss in the first place - thus the only way to actually keep your hair (whereas rogaine only stimulates the already 'crippled' follicles and only helps as long as you're using it).

Waiting till you can see your scalp is not a good idea at all if your goal is to keep your hair.

that's a good idea, I am going to read up on rogaine. I haven't started T just yet, just being overcautious and reading this thread  to make sure I know what I am getting into before I go all the way.  the plan is for top surgery in the spring, so I need to decide eventually if I want to be on T before surgery or not.

I hope you find something that works for you with any hair loss. I waffle back and forth between wanting to do everything I can to prevent it and just sucking it up and seeing what happens.
