Is her hormone being passed on to me?

Really kinda worried about this don't know who else to talk to or ask and the doctors get REAL funny every time I mention going out with a MtF.

I started having small periods the past few weeks I am on a pill which stops me from having ANY periods because I can't cope with them. However I do have them when women are around me for a long period of time for the first few weeks so I put it down to my new job.

However it hasn't stopped the mild bleeding also it gets worse when I have sex with my Mtf girlfriend (I don't care if some of you think its weird we have sex she has nearly finished transitioning please save that debate for yourselves) who is on the blue pill female hormone not sure which one. I can't but help think her hormone is being passed through bodily fluids to interfere with my pill hormone. (please correct me if this is completely wrong)

I also have grown a shorter temper and have flared up in what only can be described as teenage skin problems which I haven't suffered with for at least four years being in my 20's now.

The only other thing I think is I exercise more and have lost a stone in weight due to the fact I am overweight and on a diet. Could this effect the sudden rush of what seems like puberty and forced semi periods?

Sounds like a really good idea to see your Dr and get checked out

If anything, you -could- (I'm not a Doc) get a trace, I mean minute... not even registrable amount of hormones from a partner... but not enough to cause any changes like your talking about... Your getting more hormones in from one pill then you could take in from a month of happy fun time.

If passing on of hormones from partner to partner was that dramatic we would see more men with breasts and more women with back hair.

I would talk to your gynecologist (or who ever your getting your pill from) and see what they say, but receiving extra hormones from your partner probably isn't high on the list of things they would be worried about (unless your partner is spiking your drinks which is unlikely).

Even though I do agree with Cindy James about seeing your doctor, this could be a likely reason for the oncoming periods. Weight and hormones play an active part within each other. And if one of them is off-balance, it's likely the other could be the factor.

I think hormones from a pill cannot pass to another person. If she were on estrogen cream, it can pass to you; but not a pill.

I think menses could return when someone loss weight if the person had been overweight.

(Sorry for my English).

The chances are it is your hormones that are acting up, not a transferance.

Get into see a doctor.

You mentioned the hormone being in pill form.  So this probably doesn't apply, but I'll throw it out just in case.

With some hormones, they are applied as a gel to the skin.  They can definitely transfer to another person for hours (in fact, some scientific literature has documented post-menopausal women transferring hormones to their pets, causing spayed female dogs to have periods).  I've heard 4 hours for the amount of time between application of the hormone and when no transfer will take place.  It's a well known problem and is documented in the insert with the gels.

Once again, this wouldn't apply to a pill.  But I wanted to throw it out here for people to know about if they have a partner who uses a gel - it can cause serious health issues.

I would find a doctor though since it sounds like something is going on and it's worth checking out regardless of the cause.  Depending on why you are on birth control pills, it may also be important to make sure they are functioning properly for you.  As for your doctor, if your doctor is giving you weird vibes for being with your partner, I'd try to find another doctor.  I personally will not see any medical professional that will judge me or my wife.
