Who am I ? Well to begin with I'm a woman that doesn't dress like one,act like one,or really look like one either. I dress,act, and look like a man with womanly parts. Do I want to be a man not really I like men's clothes,wallets,belts,shoes and boots but I for right now want ot keep my womanly parts. I wish people would accept me for who I am, It's not the clothes that make the person it's the person that makes the person for those of you who understood what I just said kudos to you. There is a name for people like it's called Androgyne its meaning is :Someone who doesn't associate their gender in laments terms they are between genders. So quite looking at me like I should dress like a woman because I won't.   

Not to be a pain but I think you mean lay man's terms and that's an irony in and of itself isn't it.

I have a friend of mine who is gender queer.  And while I totally get the point that it's frustrating to be stuck between two genders simply because society as a whole doesn't have the wherewithall to understand your perspective and identity,  it irks me when suggests that gendering is done to be mean.

Most people are not trying to force you into a category against your will,  it's just easier to communicate that way.  We don't really have the language to support gender queer.  When I discuss my friend I try using "he/she"  "Her/him"  etc  and to mix it up in conversation so I'm not always leading with one gender.

But it's just confusing.   Be who you are.   Stop asking others to define you to yourself.

you knew what I meant i have a hard time trying to say in writing and in voicing what i want to say.

Someone asked an intersex friend of mine how to address those who don't fit the binary.  Their answer was, "ask them." Simple really.  We tend to make things too complicated.

Ah but I've tried that and it still causes offense.  From day to day my friend gets annoyed at being "asked" as well.  It's touchy.   I guess it's like if you want to be addressed a certain way just let others know. 

I'm glad you found us Peg....but I'm confused by your tone, and telling us (the androgyne forum) about the definition of androgyne.....

As to how to address....we've got a thread stickied to discuss that very issue! We're coming up with some great words to really round out the available language.

There is a point where if someone is offended, it's their problem.  I don't advocate being rude or insensitive, but if you make a reasonable attempt at politeness and respect you have done your duty.

I was trying to say how I was feeling at the time,I have read on the internet Androygne has many definitions  . It is different for each person and the definitions are different too. If I have offended anyone by my post I am truly sorry.

Judging by the posts I've read, I don't think anyone is offended.  You do seem angry, is it towards people in general or is it people who know you but won't respect you ?  It's really hard to know someone 'for the person they are' unless thats been communicated ... and at length for some people.

I'm angry at people who don't respect me for who I am. I'm sick and tired of people trying to make me into someone I'm not. this anger I'm carrying inside me is eating at me big time I just don't know what to do anymore.

Being angry shows theres still some life in you. I haven't been angry since i stopped drinking lol


Just wanted to add that not drinking is a good thing, I would recommend it to everyone.
