Felix

I saw the doctor today, and she told me to come back in three weeks with a letter and some bloodwork results, and we can start testosterone injections.

Then I called my therapist, and she said yes let's move this forward. We'll talk next week about how to word the letter.

I talked to my ex boyfriend, and we discussed sex. He's pretty hetero and we agreed a long time ago to taper off and let it go as my body masculinized, so I wanted to make sure he was in the loop.

My daughter is very happy for me. She's happy about most anything that she can tell makes me happy.

I'm thrilled. This is such a relief. I'm okay living without T, but it will be nice not to have to.

Wow, that's awesome, man! :D

Just curious, what do you mean by you will talk next week about how to "word the letter"?  the letter that your therapist will write?  Do you help write that or something?
I'm just asking because I just started trying to get my letter, and I'm not sure how it works or the process.

Congratulations, brother! It's great that your daughter is behind you, too! It means a lot to me to know that my kids are with me.   ;D

Not sure if this helps, but when I've had reference letters from my psychologist, usually she will write something and then send it to me beforehand and ask me to read it first and then get back to her if there's anything I need changed, and she will do so. If you find the right sorta person, they're usually more than happy to do what you need them to do specifically without being stubborn. :)

Anyway, congratulations Felix! And it's good to hear that your daughter is over the moon too!! :D

My therapist will need to know what information in particular the prescribing doctor is most interested in. She's also kinda just being respectful, and making sure we're on the same page. So yeah, I'll kinda sorta help write the letter, in that we'll discuss it and I'll see the final draft before the doctor does.

The doctor is a colleague of my primary care doc. They have at least a year's worth of charts that list me as transgender, so they don't have super stringent expectations for my letter. They know I'm not ask for T on a whim, and that I'm pretty careful, and that I've been putting off formal transition because I was concerned about whether it was good for my child.

I've been giddy all day.

Lol before she fell asleep, my daughter asked me if the testosterone would make me as smart as my last boyfriend (he was a musician and mathematician). Lol. Such staggering and insidious sexism. I answered as best I could. A few minutes later she asked if the T would make me have bad table manners like the boys in her class.

This is going to be interesting. ;D

Just to throw something out there: kids know when their parents are unhappy. I grew up in a very unhappy household, and I was always negatively affected by the relationship between my parents.

I know your daughter has her own issues, but in the end, a happy parent can better raise a happy healthy child. I think your feeling more confident and happy will also affect your daughter's state of mind.
