i go to a school without co-ed dorms so as a result i live with two chinese international girls who can barely understand me, let alone respect my gender identity. res life is trying to find me a solution but it may not be until the end of the semester, any thoughts on how to deal in the mean time. its not a suit, its one big room..

Divide the room? My sister hated her roomate, now she's gone!
Even in death, may I be triumphant.

i tried that in the beginning of the semester. i think its a cultural thing but because they view me as female they believe that the space is totally communal, its really strange. its like a gender and cultural divide.

Wow.  I am totally at a loss for advice.  I don't think that has ever happened before.  The best I've got is be yourself, and hope that eventually the truth sinks in.
It's easier to change your sex and gender in Iran, than it is in the United States.  Way easier.

Please read my novel, Dragonfly and the Pack of Three, available on Amazon - and encourage your local library to buy it too! We need realistic portrayals of trans people in literature, for all our sakes

You have what, a month left? Soon you'll be studying for finals and turning in papers. Make use of the library and hope for the best.

if this was an academic school i would. its not, i go to an art school and i'm there on loans and scholarships and so i can't afford a single or even a double room. i work in my dorm on most of my assignments and projects so as a result i have to be in my room... a lot. additionally because they are international they NEVER go home for any breaks.

College is a time of challenges and character building. It looks like you're going to have some interesting stories to look back on. My best suggestion would be to stake out your ground and enlighten your roomies as best as possible. You have your rights and they have theirs.
