I asked this question in my other thread about facial tweezing.... but it seemed to peter out and get no responses...

Figured I might as well start a new thread posing this question....

So, anyone care to share their experiences and how paaaaaiiiinnnnnfffuuuulllllll it must be?!?  :icon_blah:

for me it wasn't painful down under per se but not that I could go for long amounts of time without pain meds (not that they did me any good)
lidocaine injection made it into a no big deal thing discomfort wise although it's possible to use topical lidocaine if willing to spend more money vs injection.

I got lucky in other ways since the provider didn't do anything sleazy like charge more for genital electro although the drive to her business took away some price advantage.

You mean in terms of paying for gas?

I used to think this was such a no-brainer.  Find a surgeon who scrapes the follicles off (or however it's described medically) and you don't have to worry about down south hair zapping.  What could be easier, right?  It's one of the reasons I picked Brassard.  I even say a video where they showed the procedure.

I never sent the down south follicles to the electric chair.  Br. B took care of it and all is well.

I have since found I'm one of the lucky ones.

Actually it's not quite as painful as facial electro.  Especially as compared to doing right under the nose.  Gawd I hated those sessions.

There are fewer nerve endings in the scrotal skin than there are in the face so the discomfort is less.

I'm gonna disagree with a lot of what has been said so far that straight up, genital electrolysis might be the most painful thing I've ever done. Well, maybe not in the long run as much as the long recoveries of breast augmentation and SRS...but it was VERY painful. I used a prescription numbing cream but it barely worked. And luckily, I didn't have to get electro on the face so that might be worse (I had laser hair removal for my face instead).

Also, some weird thing happened where I think more than enough hair was removed, because now part of my labia are completely hairless in places that they shouldn't be. If scraping the hair follicles off really works, I say do that (though I have heard that it can still grow back that way...)

Yeah i'm gonna say getting it scraped away when you get surgery sounds much more endurable then a needle with electric current poking and zapping near my privates.

God i hope it doesn't comeback...

who does/doesn't do the scraping?

I'm hoping to not have any hair to deal with (other than strays) south of the top of the slit anyway, whether that's via laser or whatever

So getting too much is not going to be a concern in any case.

I've read that cauterizing the hair folliciles prior to SRS does not always work... some escape unscathed. It must be gross to find some hair down there, especially if a guy is going down on you.  :-X

Somewhere on the Internet you might be able to find a video of the part of the surgical procedure showing the scraping of the skin that will be used for the vaginal cavity.  I remember seeing it in one of Brassard's videos several years ago.  It should have made it to YouTube by now.
