I just started transing a few months ago, mostly in my personality and hair length. No biodentical hormone boosts or any gender specialist visits yet. This is all natural and COMPLETELY CIS. I started behaving like a girl and my body shows it, slightly.

ANY CIS GUY would look like me if they behaved that way and oh like I believe your attitude affects your hormones.

That is a very interesting concept. I  wonder if it has scientific evidence to back it up.  I totally agree.

Okay, I seriously don't mean to "burst your bubble" or anything but, I am quite confused by your posts Alyssa.  And mixie I sincerely apologize but I feel some blunt honesty is in order.  Alyssa, you say you just began transitioning a few months ago, and I quote...

So just to sum this up as I get into the next part, your transition currently entails only hair growth and personality changes.  Next you say, and I again quote...

What exactly does this mean?  Behavior affects the impression we get of people and from time to time it can act as a mask, sure, but lift the mask and you'll find that physical looks remain the same.  A photograph sometimes is the greatest way to see whether someone passes because there are few masks (unless digitally edited, of course).

And technically I still do look like a guy if I were to go into "boy mode".

Perhaps you could post a photograph entailing the differences between you in "boy mode" and "girl mode", as based upon the photos you've posted in the past and now, I've only seen what appears to be, one mode, and it leans towards masculine.

Transition takes work, a lot of work.  If you want an honest opinion, here's mine.  You have potential as does every other girl who posts here, but you need to work that potential to get somewhere.  Growing your hair out is a great start and you have great looking hair, so I don't doubt it'll do you well.  I am confused, however, by what I took your words to mean, transitioning via personality.  Perhaps if you could elaborate, I'd gain a better understanding.

My ending opinion, you have potential, but you do not pass yet.  As far as attitude affecting hormones, perhaps in some ways.  I know I'll get s* for this post, but I cannot sit back while people paint an illusion in others minds.  And while I certainly do not agree with overdoing it to pass, I do feel some blunt honesty needs to be projected or else people are just being given false hope.

Love you and love your honesty as always.  But the reason I started this thread was to completely avoid people deciding to be honest for people's own good.

The idea that if someone's opinion isn't in agreement with yours that they aren't being "honest" is biased.  The other thread is doing that sort of deal.

It is really important for people to explain their goal to me in this thread.   This way people know what you want to be instead of shoving you into categories of what we think you are supposed to be.

If you take Tilda Swinton for example,  she's a woman who doesn't conform to a specific standard.  If that is someone's goal that is completely different than wanting to look like Pamela Anderson or wanting to look like Hilary Clinton or wanting to look like Angelica Houston or wanting to look like Kim Kardashian or Selena Gomez or or or.

There are as many different styles of beauty as there are women.

I don't intend on over running your thread and again I apologize, but I'll say again (and then I'm out, I promise) what I've always said to perhaps offer my overall perspective despite being the one offering advice (and Alyssa, make sure you read this)...

Take advice for a grain of salt.  Make your own educated decision on what goals you need to achieve for self-happiness.  Receiving advice does not mean you must follow and act on the advice.  If my advice helps you, awesome.  If my advice doesn't help you, awesome.  Diversity is beautiful.  Advice is opinionated, not fact; take it for what it's worth to you.

All these pictures are pre-HRT so... yeah.
I don't have nice pictures since I started hormones, I've kinda been dyking it out.

*edit*
oh.
who do i want to look like?

Mellissa(right), b*tch is flaw-less~
Joey you know you totally pass, you cheater!!! lol  ::) oh and by the way you look way cuter than that Melissa girl, :o  in my opinion.
Don't judge a book by its cover! My lifes been like a country song! True love, amazing grace, severe heartbreak, buckles, boots n spurs! I 've been thrown off the bull a couple times, I keep getting up and dusting myself off! Can't give up on my happily ever after!

Ok so ive been out about being trans for merely 2 months and I only just recently started on HRT last week. That being said, here is a picture of me with just a wig and some eye liner on, freshly shaven.. haha thats the worst, Ive got pale skin and dark hair so even after shaving you can still see a shadow. Either way, for just starting, i figure in a few years ill be passable... I hope

Taken first day of HRT (I hope my hair actually looks like that in a couple years)

mixie

He says you look fake because of the wig, so it's hard to tell.  The wig doesn't "pass" so it's difficult for him to judge you.  But you don't look like a guy in a wig, you look like a woman in a fake wig.

Who is your inspiration!!   Follow the rules !  LOL

Advice for Kylie :D :

You can be passable now imo with the right outfit.

Wear shirts with a lower cut neck.
V-necks are nice(and addictive).
If you have dark hair and pale skin, you're gonna be an awesome candidate for laser (:
I suggest you start asap :D

Is that wig good quality?
I can't tell in the picture, but if it is then I suggest getting it cut professionally, the length is a little too long.

Imo long hair only makes a long face look longer and more gaunt.

Ooh, do me!
This is me 8 months in.

And this is me in a year or two! Eh, well, I can dream :)

oh my god Eve he just about DIED last night when I showed him your before and after. He could not understand it at all.  I had to tutor him a little on hormone therapy. He was FLOORED when he saw your picture.  He said the before looked like one of his Greek friends, really cute but that you were "really hot" and how did that happen.

So you are sort of my poster child for before and afters.  He also was stunned by Sarah's.

Personally I think you are prettier than Ann Hathaway or the other chick.   I bet others would agree.

I had this up last night but took it down.  Now curiosity has got the best of me... may take it down again, but I'll leave it for now.

What kind of woman do I want to look like?  This might seem really narcissistic, but I like how I look and wouldn't want to look any different.  Maybe smaller feet and hands, but nothing else.

Im getting laser this christmas thankfully

And yes i know the wig looks fake, but ive got super short hair and look like a total boy without it. It was a super cheap wig like 30 bucks and I dont plan to wear it out or anything, infact i only wore it to take the picture, otherwise i dont wear it, I dont like wigs. But even still like i said I just recently came out like barely 2 months ago, Im no where near full time yet. I want to grow out my hair because youre right the wig doesn't make me pass. I need my real hair to grow, I was just seeing what you all think for just being brand spanking new to this.

As for whom im trying to look like, I didn't have a set person in mind. I've got my own styles. And I dont personally feel like I resemble anyone aside from my cousin in my family lol so i guess im trying to look more like her?

And ive got 0 women's clothes, Ive got a pair of jeans thats it. Ive got a long way to go I get that.

One of the things I used to do years ago that my drag queen friends adored (not that I'm saying anyone here is a DQ) but I used to wear turtle neck shirts upside down.    IF you are skinny enough you wear the turtleneck part around your waist.  Then you drop the "bottom" of the shirt towards your back like a drape.

When I was broke I used to do this all the time.  And it it gave an hourglass sort of shape to it.   Try it out.

Also hubby says it's not going to work very well that he's commenting because now that he knows his judgment is getting skewed so probably we got till the end of the night for this thread and I"m not going to ask him any more.

But I can try to ask some friends I know if you want.  Whatever can help.

Actually...?  She's a total icon of mine! ;D  The very first time I attacked my eyebrows with a tweezer, I had a pic of her up on my computer as a guide because I knew her face structure was a lot like mine.

Now this one WILL be taken down shortly, but want to see some before pictures that will blow your mind?  Never mind the silly graphics on that Christmas one.  My sister did that in-camera back when she took the picture! lol

(No more of that...)
