So, as my surgery date is hurtling closer (I see my surgeon in two weeks for a consult!) I've been reviewing my journey quite a bit lately. Yesterday at work, for some reason, the following words popped into my head. Well at least the "anchor" phrases did. I filled in the rest when I got home. I hope all of you like it.

She was a confused little boy
Male body with a girl heart
Alone in the shadows
Afraid of her desires
Taught to please the world
But never herself

Until one day He died
And she broke himself
Ending the man to be free
Death-dealer and soulbringer
Kidnapper of hopes
Killer of dreams
Loved by those who loved him
Hated by those who loved him
If only a tiny bit

She grieves as they do
For the man that will never be
But also grieving
For the little girl that never was

So here she now stands in his place
A mirror-image of herself
Both the yin and the yang
Father time and mother nature
Former guy and current Gaia
The prince and the princess
The knight and the woman warrior
Two sins for the price of one

Envious of those who love their sex
And sad for those trapped
Constrained by the binary
For she knows why men are silent
And the secrets women keep
What it is like to give
And one day soon to receive

Here she waits
On the verge of the impossible
A New Phoenix waiting to be reborn
A Revolution in body and spirit

For she is the Trans in transcendent
The keeper of her dreams
And the guardian of her heart
Full of love to give
With hope to be loved in turn
As the beautiful woman she is
And was always meant to be
and i know that i'm never alone
and i know that my heart is my home
Every missing piece of me
I can find in a melody

That was just sooooooooooooo beautiful Melody.
You have such a deep, inspiring, loving and beautiful heart.

Melody; if your attitude determines your altitude; you've gone intergalactic.

I managed to get to the fourth line before it went all blurry.
Fortunately, quarter of a box of tissues and 15 minutes later I finished it.

Your prose just resonates, life, journey and ultimate destination of love and desire.
I wish it all to you, in great depth and abundance.

In just a little over two months, you are going to be soring like the eagle.

Embrace it

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Thank you hon. I'm glad I was able to move and inspire you. This little poem has generated more reaction from my friends and family than I thought it would. Lots of tears and hugs. That is the point I suppose. To make people feel something.
and i know that i'm never alone
and i know that my heart is my home
Every missing piece of me
I can find in a melody

I just loved it.
It was a little hard to get in the mood with the guy next door playing his rap music. lol. But I really like it.

A memorable hug :)
