Right now I am a no-op because of family issues but I had a question for post-ops. I was wondering if once everything heals, if we can auto-lubricate in excitation or state of arousal or if it a sacrifice we make and have to do it ourselves? Just curious.

I'm not post-op yet (very soon!), but my roommate and others have told me that they do lubricate. Like ciswomen, some more than others.
and i know that i'm never alone
and i know that my heart is my home
Every missing piece of me
I can find in a melody

It seems to vary a bit. Some get more, some get less.
I got less... I can self lube to some extent but I usually need to use additional lube to really enjoy sex. I found some things that helps, like using products meant for women post-menopause.

Hi, I'm a 27 years post op and I should say, don't worry.
In the first two years after srs there was just a little lubricant but after the years go by, it's more and more.
It all depends on the mood you're in.
After a while the skin in the vagina will become some kind of mucosa, that's a natural reaction of the body.
As we all know, mucosa is wet, so, no problem.
As far as I know and experience, there is no sacrify to make after srs, despite giving birth.

nice to know..

Enjoying sex as a woman is something I am looking forward to when I am post op.

I want to be made love to :-)
Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

I am 3 years post-op and I always always always need lube. There have been a few instances where I've gotten really excited and produced a bit of wetness, but never enough to have sex comfortably without lube. I don't think it's really that big of a deal. Just keep a bottle by your bed or in your purse so you always have it just in case! :)
