Just thought I would check if anyone has ever tried this service in hopes of getting an idea of what your possible results could.

I just got my photos back about a week ago. To me it was very helpful and even reassuring. If I ever decide to get ffs I now have a good idea where I'd spend my money. More than anything it helped to see that I don't have to have surgery and my money would be better spent on hair transplants.

It's excellent, and a minor cost compared to the price ticket for FFS. Convinced me not to waste 9k on my chin issue, which was in my mind and not on my face.

Also, answer her questions honestly when you submit a request. She'll tailor her approach to your desires somewhat. I wanted aggressive - rip every bit of masculinity off my face. And she did, and then I took the photos to Spiegel and he turned it into reality.

i think its an intriguing concept its a great way to see the possibilities.

The skills required to do this are around... I just wish someone would open up a competing service to lower the prices! I'd love to do it, but it's not an expense I can justify.

It's unrealistic to take a photo to a FFS plastic surgeon, tell them you want to look just like it, and expect that to actually happen afterwards.

It's really just meant to give you an idea of what you might look like with FFS. For me personally, there was no point, because I was going to get FFS anyway and whatever some person made with photoshop would in no way ever actually the affect the outcome of it.

I used her service 6 years ago, pre-transition. She gives great advice but I don't think the results is how you'll actually look like after ffs. This girl I know posted her virtual results and actual ffs results and they look nothing alike. But if you have the money to spend, try it out. It can help you make a decision on what procedures to get done.

I used that service prior to surgery to help decide what I should get done.  I was so on the fence about certain procedures that I needed a second opinion before I could make a decision.  And, honestly, I'm glad I did because virtualffs made me realize I definitely wanted my chin done even though so many people I know said I didn't need it.  I ended up doing more than her recommendations too because I played around with the resulting pictures in GIMP a little bit and saw that I could get an obvious improvement by doing my jaw too.

If you already know what you want, it's a waste.  But if you need help deciding what you want, seeing pictures of what a result "might" look like is actually really helpful even if it's not 100% accurate.

What Butterfly and Jen both said. Dr. O. told me "those aren't accurate but they sometimes make people feel better to know what they might look like if..." I just looked at my vffs pic I did through that site in 7/07 and put next to me now. I was soooooo happy with the vffs, I was like "hey! it's possible! maybe they can give me masculine face a girlish look." I'm more pleased with my ffs results than I was with the vffs results. For $40K, I'd hope so.

Please don't repost :)

If you click on it it get a little bigger:

Cool. That's interesting Meghan. I like your actual ffs results better, too. ;)

Damn, and here I was going to submit a 1-week rush job monday; took a while to pull the necessary shots together. I imagine this'll get Alexandra to busy to take on any rush jobs.  :embarrassed:

Thanks sister's, I appreciate your help. Think I will go ahead and try this service to get ideas, even if it is not an accurate exacting result.
Meghan, I always thought you look amazing!!  $40K is not cheap but totally worth it!

It depends on....sometimes FFS photo's show excellent results until you see their faces when animated.

I saw dr Z's 'its about time' promo DVD and I was shocked and wondering how long post op the 'participants' were....

Strange, wooden faces, barely able to move when speaking, smiling etc.

My guess it's because of the (strange, harsh looking) cheekimplants that seem to 'obstruct' facial muscles.

Very goodlooking  faces on photo's, strange looking faces when animated IRL......that's a huge difference and very 'attention' grabbing I guess......like......'what the hell is wrong with her face? Why can she barely open her mouth when speaking and smiling?'

Personally, the thing about FFS is surgeons of all types seem to not take care of their patients equally. There are Dr. O stories out there that horrify me and bring me back to my my traumatic surgical days, and yet there are Dr. O results that look so extremely natural; same with Dr. S IMO. I experienced that with a revision rhinoplasty surgeon; he had literally hundreds of pristine results but gave me a jagged, collapsed, bulbous nose that looked ran over by a truck. My personal belief, after tons of research, is that sometimes, surgeons just come into surgery completely uninterested, unprepared, and drunk. There's no laws that prevent it.

It's really unfair, especially because of the amount of money every patient pays. I doubt there is discrimination going on with a doctor who operates on Trans, so my personal belief is that when these types of results happen, it's because of intoxication (a study once proved that if a doctor has just one glass of wine the night before, his success rate and accuracy with a knife lowers by %50), or simply, the surgeon not planning the surgery properly (the patient above's jaw fell apart because Dr. O did not have enough screws for the jaw and had to use spare ones that did not fit; she also said he came into the surgery verbally admitting he was ill-prepared.)

So, coming back to the main point, yes, the amazing Dr. O result showcased in many posts above (Megan's) shows that surgeons can give you something almost identical to the morph as long as the morph isn't too drastic, and that a morph should totally be the thing that convey's the goal and idea. But really, I think the outcome boils down more to you have to make sure the surgeon you go with just isn't drunk, high, tired, ill-prepared, or has a history of those things being said online. Whatever Dr. O did the day of Megan's surgery, he did it right, and looking at Trinity's result, I'll just say that it doesn't look like the standard carried over. I don't think it was anything to do with Trinity's healing or body, and I think when bad results happen, it's not a limitation, but a fault of the surgeon. We can't let bad results trick us into thinking great results aren't possible; we just have to do the impossible and find a surgeon who seems to rise above the rest.

Even if he came to surgery sober....there was no difference between that persons male and female photos. Is there a better example? She looks like a member of Megadeth.

But surgeons are there to make money.

Thanks for the photos Meghan! I've been contemplating having this done for like... quite a long time. Looks like I'll join the queue after Whitney. ;)

However you see the costs, if you don't have some visual to show the surgeon what you like and don't like, you will have to trust in your surgeon's ability to picture the words you are telling him.  I couldn't do that.

I went to Alexandra and she did a great job.  I walked into the surgeon's office and showed him the virtuals along with the written description Alexandra provides of each procedure.  She's very thorough and knows her stuff.  We discussed my desires and expectations, he told me what he could do to meet them.  We looked at the virtuals and I was able to point out specific areas I was concerned with.

After I was healed, there were no surprises.  The doctor did a great job and he told me the virtuals were very helpful.  A picture is worth a thousand words.

You're going to pay tens of thousands of dollars for FFS.  Once that operation is done, you can't undo it.  What's a couple hundred dollars more if it means you can show the surgeon exactly what you want?  I felt not doing it was penny wise, pound foolish.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

I went to a plastic surgeon in Houston for a consultation and his staff took pictures and altered them to indicate what could be done (a virtual FFS).  For this they charged $100 which included the consultation with the doctor.
