Just moseying around, cuz that's what normal people do at 5 am, right?

I'm stuck in the midwest, and have been applying to places (apts) in the bay area. I already have a job lined up out there, just need to find a place and I'm outtie 500. Hoping within the next month or so. Kind of bothers me I was SO fricken close to starting hormones 5 years ago (age 17) and because my insurance got cut off, the visits to the endo got to be too expensive at the time to continue. I threw that on the back burner and focused on finishing up high school, getting a job, yadda yadda.

Well since age 21, I've been searching for a place to call "home". I found that out in SanFran, but unfortunately I'm stuck back in my homestate. Which is cool, getting some quality time with my pops, and old friends. I am excited to leave though, and determined more than ever to start hormones this summer. I hate having to re-take the steps I did years ago to get there, but what can ya do?

I just have a couple questions for other guys who have already been on T. My voice is already pretty deep. I don't know if I coached myself to talk deeper when I was younger, or if I was just born like that, but my voice has always been deep. Does this mean I will have an ultra bass voice after T? How much i reality will it change? I like my voice now, and have no problem with it getting deeper, just wondering how much more deep it can go.

And also, I know a lot of the effects on T are genetics. If baldness/hairyness runs in your family that's kind of what you expect? My two uncles on my dads side, are, and were bald at about 40. But my dad (52) still has a full head of hair. He keeps it short, almost shaved, but he doesn't even have a receeding hairline. And my brother (26) also doesn't have a receeding hairline.

And while we're on the subject of hair, I have one of those "happy trails" people like to call them. The trail under your belly button. I've had this as long as I can remember, back to puberty (13-16). It started out pretty thin, barely noticeable. But nowdays, it's quite thick, dark brown. A good inch wide. But the rest of my belly is smooth as can be. I also get "chest hairs". It's funny, cuz they usually only come in one at a time (right above my areola?). I just pull them out cuz it looks funny, but now I got 3. And they get pretty long. Does this indicate anything?

And as far as muscle mass goes. I have naturally broder shoulders. I've played sports my whole life. When I work out, I can see the effects in my arms, legs, calves etc. But no matter how many damn sit ups I do, I keep my little tummy. If I flex hard enough, I can see the outlines somewhat of my abs, but still have that soft comfy chubbiness over them. I'm 5'4 5'5 and weigh 150. Will T help with the abs?

Sorry if these questions sound stupid. I'm just curious about all this. Thanks.

I'm not on T yet but I think I may be able to help you out with some of those questions.

I've heard of some guys having their voices go lower than they liked...even to the point that they had to try to train themselves to talk a little higher. So in reality, it may get a bit lower than you want it to.

Even though a lot of the effects of T are genetic there are still some oddball occurances, and you have to think about both sides of your family and that sometimes certain genetic aspects don't manifest in everyone. My dad has some pretty hefty Native American blood in him and he finds it really difficult to grow out a beard. But he has chest hair. He's 52 now and he doesn't have a receding hairline. I only have half-brothers. One of them starting balding in his mid 20's. The other ones hair has pretty much stayed the same. On my mom's side, the men are very hairy. So I don't know what'll happen to me.

Happy trails. I sort of have one. It's not as dark or full blown as yours sounds like it is...but I don't think it's extremely uncommon.  Chest hair - I never get any of that, but my girlfriend will get really random long hairs where you say you get yours. She just plucks them out. Truthfully I wouldn't be surprised if my girlfriend's T levels were higher than mine.

From the pictures I've seen, you don't need to worry about your stomach. Get ready for a six pack if you're willing to work out. T won't only help you out with the abs - it'll help you out everywhere. Just as long as you work out. Otherwise you'll probably add to the chubb in your stomach.

My voice was pretty deep before and now it's bass. Although I sound young, still.

Happy trail, yes that will get darker and thicker. The random chest hairs didn't seem to make any difference. I used to get them, but don't since chest surgery. It's possible I may get some chest hair some day. It seems to be creeping up from my belly button. But yeah, it's probably all genetics. Baldness, same thing. It's possible that we have a greater chance to become bald because some of the genetic modifiers are apparently on the X chromosome, and we have two of them. It used to be thought that it was entirely in your mother's family line, but according to a doctor I talked to, we FtM's can get it from either side.

Muscle mass, it probably will help some, because your muscles will bulk up on T. But your body fat will migrate to your belly, so the net effect may still be not that visible. I think mine are a bit more visible than before, plus I'm working out, but I do have to lose that body fat to truly get a six pack.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah I have a native friend whose 24 and still can't grow much of a mustache. If he does it looks like thick peach fuzz. But his dad whose full blooded, has a really dark one. Guess it just varies, like most things genetic.

I figured the chest hair thing was common. But I've seen my fair share of bio females tummies, and never seen a "happy trail" on them. I guess if they did get a faint one, they would probably shave it. I shaved mine off a couple years ago just to see if it would grow back the same, and it did. It's thickey than my 26 year old brothers and he's 6'2 250. I've noticed from a lot of pics of guys on T, their stomaches get the hairiest.

Why does the body fat go to your belly? When I was 17-18, the last time I played hockey for high school, we practiced an hour a day, ran a mile, then worked out 30 mins after that. They weighed us, and checked our body fat every couple months. Even back then when I was in my best of shape, with only 14% body fat, I still had a little belly. It seems like I have really thick skin on my stomache too, if that makes any sense.

Do you notice the muscle mass more now so that you're on T, Dennis? I don't want to bulk way up, it would look funny being I'm only 5'4. But I really want my body toned, and somewhat cut out.

Body fat goes to your belly because that's where bio guys put it on. It's easier to lose and maintain a lower body fat though on T.

Yep, I've noticed the muscle size and tone gain. And you get a more cut look because women have a layer of body fat all over, whereas men just mainly gain it in the gut, so your arms don't have the layer of fat obscuring the definition, for example. I'm only 5'5 or 5'6. I think my head looks a little small with the shoulder muscle mass I've gained, but it doesn't look too disproportionate.

Some women do have happy trails. I guess some wax or shave it, but I've seen it on a number of women. That was certainly the first area to respond on T to me.

I have a GG friend that worked out too much and got an 8 pack... and the V cut and all that... she actualy made it to less than 2% body fat...  most GG's are atleast 12% body fat and the lack of T in your system makes it extreemly difficult to drop below that point.... she used a personal trainer and worked out 4 hours a day with weights...

Once you start T, just run to keep the body fat down, cardio is great for that, and do crunches on a ballance ball to tone your midsection...  you get the results of 200+ crunches in 30  XD

You can tell from you pic Dennis you're toned up. How was your bodies definition before you started on T? You got that straight down look from your armpit to your waist, that's what I want. I want the love handles gooooooone.

Your head doesn't look small to me. I kinda got a big dome anyway, so I think more muscle mass, and more broad shoulders will even that out haha.

LynnER what's GG stand for? And the V cut is somethin I'm definitely working on. Is less than 2% body fat healthy? I suppose fat is fat, but I'd think your body would need SOME. And those ballance balls are awesome. I should get one. When it comes to crunches you can definitely feel the burn a million times more on one of those balls, rather than just laying on the ground.

Before T, I had more muscle than most women, but it didn't show because of the subcu fat. Now it does. I have gained more definition, but at the time of that picture, hadn't gained much more muscle mass. That was before I started working out.

I will never get V shaped because I have a wide ass. But my dad had a wider one - I wear his pants and they're baggy on me - so I figure meh, so what, that's genetics. i also outweigh my dad by 15 lbs, so my shape isn't too bad on the female side even with that ass. I also have always had a very thick waist, mostly muscle, so never did have anything like an hourglass shape.

T on its own does a lot to reshape the body. Working out after T does miracles. It's made a huge difference to me and it's only been 6 weeks.

I can honestly say, I "laughed out loud" to that post Dennis. I also come from a family of wide asses. My dads whole side have wide asses. My two uncles used to be quite slim, now they're pretty heavy, and my aunts followed. They were all pretty "average" when I was younger, but most of them have gotten big.

My mom has a booty too, but she's only about 5'2 130. My dad used to be pretty overweight at least 230 at 5'9. He slimed waaaaaay down a couple years back, and is back at about 180. But still has a booty, and my brother, well he's just a big mofo. 6'2 250, and he has the widest ass of all. I'd say my ass is pretty "normal" I wear a a waist size 34. I'm 5'4 5'5 150 give or take. My hip bones pop out like no other. The only part of my body I'm really stressing about is my tummy. I don't need to have a rock hard, 6 pack, just want that chubbiness gone.

So I take it you had chest surgery before you started taking T Dennis?
Oh and about the V, we were talking about. We're not talking about the body itself being shaped like a V. We're talking the the lower abdomen, going down to your private area. When your tummy is nice and toned, you get that "V" or "arrow" pointing down.

I had chest surgery six months into taking a low dose of T, so hadn't had much change-wise yet at that point.

GG is genetic or genuine girl,  so this is a female friend who intends on being female... though after dropping all that fat and working out like she did she looks more like a m2f than I do...

Less than 2% body fat is horrable for GG's  its not as bad for guys, She lost pretty much any figure she had cuz of all that... as in I had a bigger bust and smaller waist than she did...  and she was jelous because of it.  Anyways up untill HRT I was allmost allways on the extreemly low side bodyfat wise and that was just from being moderatly active at work so I dobut its really bad for you...   Good luck and yeah, Ballance balls rock  XD

Yeah, Frisco is pretty sweet. The club scene is about as good as it gets, although I haven't been to NY yet. And it's nice to be able to walk around virtually anywhere, and not feel like people are staring at you.

It's crazy expensive, but if you find a roomie it's not too bad.
