Well, of course it wasn't my first insult - it wasn't even the first time I've been trans-insulted (I got it a lot when I was in my early 20's). But my first since beginning to transition. Some bunch of drunk twats on a train this evening referred to me as "the man-chick". It felt just like being at school again. Not my best train journey. Screw 'em, though.

Seems that testosterone has permanantly set certain brain pathways in my noggin.

My first thought was size them up determine if they are drunk enough to be at a disadvantage and egg them on if I thought I could take them....

They had it all going on: sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, sizeism, you name it. They were pissing off an entire carriage full of people, and none of us had the stones to stand up and say "Okay, shut up now." But I'm not ashamed - I had to move away because they were pushing my PTSD buttons.

The annoying thing about becoming trans. I've become one of those people who don't do anything. I was good at playing the indignant bogan in a public rage. I'm better off this way though. Mostly everyone would back the aggressors

I've gotten crap from drunks on trains before. Last time it was some rowdy wannabe gangsters in from the suburbs on halloween. They laughed at me for babysitting my little sister, I said no that's my kid, and it went downhill from there. I didn't want conflict, and I think I did a good job staying calm until they got distracted by somebody else they wanted to mess with.

Aww, I'm sorry that happened to you Padma.   You did good to ignore them.

I was ridiculed on the train on New Year's eve, ughh.  Some young guys were having a right good laugh, but when my friend and I were leaving the train I heard one of the guys say, "I think that's a woman", haha. I get a lot of comments like that, actually later on in the night while watching the fireworks a security guy said, 'not born woman', when he passed me by, whatever that means.
