How do you nurture your inner child?

Not sure if we have a topic in here buried away somewhere...I was thinking about previous discussions on the tendency of androgynes towards playfulness. For me, I feel like honouring my identity as androgyne has, in a way, honoured an innocence within myself. Heralding back to a time where no one needed to try to fit into any binary simply to survive at times. Where for the most part I could just be me, in terms of my presentation, my body to a large extent (not that I want to have a child's body, perse), behaviours...

But sometimes I feel like people try to squash it. When I think of how the world could be, when I'm idealistic, perhaps even slightly whimsical, people always feel tempted to give me a hard dose of "reality." Informing me that the world could never be a different place. That my struggles to be balanced, to be me, to help others be themselves, are misinformed and hopeless. it makes me sad, and I try my best not to let it make me bitter.

I find reading fiction helps. Not even fiction for kids, just stories that came purely from the imagination.

I don't see myself as being playful or whimsical, its just not in my makeup but I do spend a lot of time dreaming of a better life, better me, better circumstance etc  and thats basically what I did as a kid too.  I also like to walk, its almost like a kid being told to go outside and play.

I play with paints/craft stuff. I'll build things and start projects just to see if I can complete them. I also participate in Live-Action Role Play and tabletop role playing games which I feel help nourish the imagination.

I work in a school, I have to show the kids how to play, they don't know, especially pure imaginative play.

I also write and read a great deal, and live in a house where we make our own art works and albums and all sorts of silly playful stuff, I am lucky, my inner young child has plenty of time to play, plenty of opportunity and plenty of enjoyment.

Me either - i'm more of the serious/i'll accept responsibility type. I think that this comes from my personality type (INTJ).

Oddly enough, I'm also INTJ, hehe. Consistently over time, always gotten that result.

I wear really bright clothes...and bright socks. My office mates keep trying to get me to wear "more appropriate" things...but screw them. lol!

There are other things...but I can't remember just now.
I'm also the spouse to the fabulous Mrs. Cynthialee.

I get INTJ most of the time. The second two letters change, but I'm pretty strongly IN.

Edit: just took a quick test, and apparently I'm INFJ today. Strongly IN, moderately F, weakly J.

My inner child loves brightly colored things, especially coloring with crayons and stringing beads. I love arts and crafts, and getting dirty from it. I never wear an apron in ceramics.

I'm also barefoot, or at least shoeless, whenever I can get away with it. I also love to climb things, and sit on things that aren't chairs. My mom still scolds me for sitting on the arms and back of the couch.

I'm a gamer.  (I also work in a game engine company, but miss actually creating games or having control over what things I work on.)

I'm a musician too; I make electronic "experimental" music and also play taiko, and sometimes hand drums, and often just tap on things to the point of annoying other people.  And my wife and I often hum or whistle or click spontaneous duets in the car.

I sometimes do coloring books, with colored pencil or markers.  Also sometimes make beaded necklaces, bracelets and knicknacks (but it's been a while.)

All my socks are toe socks or tabi, and many are stripey and fun.  I also have purple shoes I wear pretty frequently.

When I list stuff this way it seems totally dull and like I'm trying too hard.  Hmm.

I play driving games! I basically play... Is that everything we do something different than playing? i play music, play guitar, play drawings, play painting, play writing poetry, play writing novels! i even play with engineering softwares. And as long as I learn and improve my techniques the play becomes more satisfactory...but The strange thing is it seems this is never enough... It seems I am one of those person who will never be satisfied, but will always look for the next obstacle, the next checkpoint!
I also plays with my nephews, how cute they are!!!
My inner child is my the best part of me!

I Love to swing on swings (as a "bearded lady"/"Man in dress" swinging on swings can get worried looks from parrents,  sometimes I'll pull out my Lego If I feel like makings stuff in that way I also have a few games I like to play that take me back to my childhood.  Not that I would want to relive my childhood or teen years.  But I do enjoy childish play.  Playing with my Niece and Nephew can be great for feeling like a kid again
I don't want to be a man there from Mars
I'd Like to be a woman Venus looks beautiful
I'm enjoying living on Pluto, but it is a bit lonely

Well, I'll be on HRT 2 years this Wednesday, but I still present as an androgyne.  Why?  Because, I like to!

What do I do to nurture my inner child?  Rock and roll, baby!

Doggone it, I love rock and roll!

Peace    :D   Lacey

I play with my friends...we're all hovering around 30, but it hasn't been that long since we played sardines (like hide-and-go-seek, but backwards).  We also make up stupid games like Kreuger ball, inspired by Freddie's ridiculous leap out of the water in Freddy vs. Jason.  ...the more I think about it, the more I realize that all my friends are just overgrown children.  But that's okay.  We have fun.
If curiosity really killed the cat, I'd already be dead.
