My closest friend in the world is ftm, as he is very very very very self conscious about after 8 months of T having absolutely no facial hair at all. I know it will take time and so does he, but i

was wondering if anyone knows of a good site where i can order a realistic looking facial hair for him, till it at least comes in on own. seeing as how he has so little money i was wanting to

get this as a christmas gift. He still uses a pencil to draw it on and i dont have the heart to tell him how fake it looks. He is happy and that is the way i want him to be. Thanks for any help.

Is he in the USA?  There are quite a few shops online that sell realistic beards, sideburns, etc. but they all seem to be based in America.  If he's drawing it on with a pencil, I presume you mean drawing on "hairs"?  Message me and I can give you some tips for him that help me and don't look fake.

Does he have any facial hair at all, even peach fuzz? What I do is use mascara very very lightly/carefully to darken mine in, and it looks fine (at least to me and anyone I've asked).

He's naturally bright almost white blond and on pale skin the few hairs that are there are impossible to see.

Does he have enough hair to try the Just for Men stuff for beards?  I've seen guys use that and get good results.

About darkening hairs...meh.
I used to do this a couple of years ago; at the time, I'd known I was trans for a while, but wasn't out to many people at the time. Back then, I thought drawing on my facial hair was really fun and non-gender binary... did I mention I used to look really androgynous looking back then too? Eh, I dunno. Maybe It's just me who feels this way, but ever since I started T, drawing on facial hair as if it should be part of my regular routine is borderline dysphoria inducing - even to think about. I guess it's because I feel like I'm trying way too hard to fill in the blanks.  I mean, facial hair is all based on your genetics; some people hardly develop any at all, even cis males. Others just take a while to fill in. I'm sure he knows if he should be able to grow facial hair or not, or he wouldn't be panicking. I'm sure he's drawing it on because he is unhappy with himself and he's trying to compensate for the facial hair he's been desperately waiting for.

I'd link you to Propia, but they don't appear to have anything in stock at the moment, so...I really can't find anything better at the moment, unless you are willing to teach him a new DIY method for his facial hair.
Meow.

Yeah I guess in line with Jason's comments I should mention that I have a cis half-brother in his forties who has nothing but a little bit of peach fuzz on his chin. He never shaves.

There was an old post called "spirit gum" which explained a bit about how to do good facial hair. I have really good luck with it, but it has taken a lot of practice. I have been refining this for over a year. A theatrical company called Act One is a good starting point, have him order a couple of the sideburns and goatee to play with. They can be cut down to fit your face better. A new trick I have added is, once the fake thing is in place, I take a few hairs off my head, chop them up, and glue them around the edges so it looks more natural. Make sure to order the ones that say HUMAN HAIR.

I can send you some pictures privately if you want, PM me with your email! It's a lot of fun, but takes a lot of practice and patience. I hope your friend has good luck!
