Hey..

I got an terribly fright that dr suporn is just a scam. Is there anyone who have actually done their SRS operations with him? I need to know, since i'm thinking of getting thee finishing touch in april next year. But i need to make sure i don't traveel to thailand without knowing what i go to.

Anyone who have taken the srs operation with dr suporn, would be great to chat with you about this, because i live in norway and srs operation is a big step for me, so i need to be sure.

Regards,

Alia

I'm sure that there are members here who have dealt with this doctor and who will be able to answer your question.  I have looked at his web site and he has also sent me some info on his practice and related things.  He is on my "Considering" list.

Chat later

I know a couple of gals who went to see him and a couple who took him off the list once his prices rose a bit.  All said that they had good communication and, for the two that had surgery, good results.

At least two of the girls on the UK TG site I use, Rose's, have used Dr Suporn and worship the ground he walks on.

I obviously can't talk from first hand experience, but one of these girls is held is some esteem herself on Rose's.

Hi Alia,

It's only natural to be wary and scared with the thought of surgery approaching.

I'm booked in to have SRS with Dr Suporn on 22nd Feb 2006, I choose him for a number of reasons.

1) OMHO His technique is way ahead of other surgeons.
2) He preserves maximum nerve sensation.
3) The visual results are stunning
4) He gets amazing depth even with not much donor material
5) You don't need prior electrolysis on the region.
6) The reputation of him and his staff is second to none, they sort out everything for you and the aftercare is amazing.

I'm in the UK and know many girls that have gone to Dr Suporn for both their srs & ffs. All of which are VERY happy with the results. One friend's web site:- http://www.annasplace.me.uk/grs.html

also check out the yahoo groups

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/transsexual-uk
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Trans-surgery
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dr_s_club

And some of the links at the bottom of the clinics web site
http://srs-thailand.com/index.html

and also the rating and comments here https://www.susans.org/Sex_Reassignment_Surgery/MTF_Surgeons

I hope I've managed to put you mind slightly more at rest.

Hi amy! and Thanks :) You put me more into rest now. Too bad we diden't have surgery on the same month, its a scary tought being alone in thailand :) hehe. I hope your surgery goes well, i'm not having mine before april, or maybe later, i haven't decided yet, since i haven't started with antiandrogens yet (gonna do that 9 nov. if dr. suporn approves my doctors antiandrogen good enough).

All i know now, is that i'm going to have surgery in 2006, and i have waited so many years for this, its also a scary though. But i guess, this surgery will be a problem solver for me, i just hope i can live a normal life afterwards, as a 100% lady and not worry about being beaten up for having scars and stuff like that. This is a major concern for me.

Best regards,

alia

Hi Amy & Alia

Good luck with srs with Dr Suporn Amy and I feel you will be delighted with results.
I know three girls who used him and his work is 1st class.
I too am about to schedule my srs with him for late 2006 hopefully and cant wait to get there.

Alia pls dont worry too much about the srs the team of Dr S will look after you 100% I am told so you should just go ahead and schedule. If you do go in 2006 let me know when you are going and maybe we can hook up or I can put you in touch with friend out there?

Worth a mention is the fact that he doesn't like to do srs on girls who have had prior orchi or genital electrolysis as it makes the donor skin tougher to work with. He prefers to take care of all that when you get in theatre.

Ps Also after recovery he and his partner usually take all his patients for a lovely meal before you travel home!

Take care and go for it!

Love Chrissie x

Suporn is one of the most highly regarded SRS surgeons in the world. OTOH Sanguan Kunaporn might be better at half the price.

From my own research in the U.K from people I know personally who have undergone GRS surgery. The one's who have had surgery with Dr Suporn in Thialand have been very pleased with the results. The one's I know who have had surgery in the U.K through the NHS have had very poor results. Three had serious re- occuring infections and one had to have more than 10 operations to try and put the surgery right.

Dr Suporn is a very experienced surgeon in the field of gender re-assignment surgery and I am very surprised by your comments.

Think yourself lucky hon I've been trying to get a GRS referral in the U.K for the last 5 years! despite being 5 years RLT and complying with the HBSOC..

Well I haven't seen Dr Suporn since this morning  :) I had SRS with him on Monday so I can assure you that he is real. I haven't seen my resuts yet but have looked at a few really close up and am totally impressed.

What I can say is that he is one of the most kind and humane soals I've ever met.

I went with an ex G/f of mine with her for her SRS to Suporn last year in fact I was traveling last turkeyday. Her results were good, she has good depth in spite on neglecting her dilation regimen. Also from the perspective of a S/O his clinic was great along with his aides. Off the subject of SRS but my last night there they waited at the clinic for me to get back from shopping for everyone to tell me goodbye and I wasn't the patient. My G/f was leaving the day after me. They are great people at his clinic. I could go on but I was pleased with them. And I'm a Dr. Chettawut girl.

Hey Ann could you tell Goon and Aye and the rest of the staff I say hi?
Sabaidemaikaa. I'm curious also does Goon still have the pendant I gave her before I left?

I'm interested in what type of referral letter Dr Suporn would except for surgery?

You can find referral reqirements on The Suporn Clinic Website, it varies depending on age.

From what you have posted in other threads you reall shouldn't have any problem getting a private refferal in the UK anyyway.

Suporn, Chettawut and Sanguan are all good options who can offer you more than the UK surgeons at a lower price so keep your options open,

Cool Lisa. The pic of me with the elephant and the one I had up here with the leopard are from when I was over there last year with my then g/f Karin. So if you remember a short blond post-op from Chettawut with a taller brunette that was seeing Suporn then that was me.

Yup Suporns requirements are on his webpage and are better stated there and with his staff then here by me. If one has followed the SOC then one probably wouldn't have much problem with any of the main Thai SRS surgeons as long as one is reasonably healthy etc.
