Would it be possible for me to take a girls virginity? My friend says it's not.
Push it baby, push it baby, out of control, I got my gun cocked tight and I'm ready to blow. ;)

I think it's relative - like a really individual opinion. I'll ask you a few questions - is a transman who has only ever slept with women still a virgin til he has sex as a man or during/post transition?? Or is he forever a virgin?? Or only until he has genital surgery?? If a lesbian has only ever slept with women a virgin for life?? Do you believe one has to have had penetrative sex with a 'natural AMAB penis' to no longer be considered a virgin??

IMHO if you have been to bed with someone you're no longer a virgin. So I think if you go to bed with a girl who has never been intimate/sexual with anyone else - even if there is no 'natural AMAB penis' involved - yes, I would consider you taking her virginity.

[FWIW dictionary says virgin = a person who has never had sexual intercourse, where sexual intercourse = sexual union between humans involving genital contact other than vaginal penetration by the penis.. I believe that supports my above statement. But I'm sure there are MANY other opinions and thougths on the matter!!]

Virginity is a busted concept. If you and the other person believe a certain sex act to be a law of virginity then it is.

The whole idea of no sex=virginal/pure makes me kinda sick. How the heck can people be pure!?

I looked alittle up the topic for a time ago.

I would say yes of corse.

I bet your friend are a straight person who only seen man x women, top bottom, penetration to be the right way. (I just sorta got the type)
it dosent really make much sence when you think about it. as jay says it would kinda make some people who had sex for there last 50 years forever virgins, like 2 girls only having sex with girls. or a gay guy who arnt into anal sex.

for girls (specially) you must be penetraited to be considered non-virgin, I think its because people have belived it to be somehing in the vegina who breaks " the first time, which isnt true, but only a myth.

the question is pretty interesting,btw
when I where around 16 I had phonesex with a guy, and I gave another guy a ->-bleeped-<- after we touched alittle on his cheast and pants and so, however he said I where still a virgin since he didnt get to penetraite me. which had made me kinda qurious for year or not when to consider yourself a virgin or not?

No. I mean that the definition and concept behind virginity is that a person who doesn't perform a certain sex act is more pure/better for not being sexual.

I think that if both participants class something as sex, and went into the act as sex then you are not a virgin.  But the concept of what constitutes sex is entirely different depending on who is partaking in it.  For example, I was in a situation with who was, at the time my best friend, involving touching each others genitals and sleeping naked/almost naked - I can't remember - together (just to clarify, he had made me deliberatly drunk, that's not my normal behaviour), and we did not class that as sex.  However if we had been two lesbian females then we would have classed that as sex.  I consider that I lost  my virginity with my ex-boyfriend though penatrative sex, however we would have equally classed anal sex with me taking, or me giving him anal with a prosthesis/strap on, or had we been two FAAB's 'lesbian' sex.  So yes, if you both consider it to be sex, then you have taken their virginity, in my opinion.

I agree that the world is too hung up about the existance of virginity.  I thought that I would feel somehow different, or be somehow different after having sex, but although a highly enjoyable, intimate, close act, it does not change who you are as a person, your level of purity or anything else about you, physically or mentally.

How about if you fantasize about having sex with someone, like literally imagining every move they make and your body reacts just like if they were really there. Would you still be a virgin

I would say no, as there's only one person involved.  But if you wanted to class yourself as no longer a virgin then no one else can say otherwise.

I was thinking that since my body actually reacted like it would have if she was there.  I was just curious what others thought.

Sharky

Yes, in my opinion.

Also to me sex means intercorse. I wouldn't say I was having sex with someone if it was Just oral or something.

I think there is has to be another person actually there.

This question reminds me of how lesbians lose their virginity when they're exclusively lesbian.

I guess I think the traditional belief of losing ones virginity is the breaking of the hymen for a woman and the penetrating of a vagina for a man, but when you think about gays and lesbians and trans people these beliefs don't apply.  I guess we need new definitions.

I read about a religious couple who wanted to remain virgins until they got married so they did everything but intercourse, including anal sex, yet they still considered themselves virgins.  Something to think about especially since many people won't even consider anal sex after years and years of intercourse.

Before President Clintons testimony on what wasn't sex most everyone believed that any contact with genitals was Sex and a virgin hasn't had "ses" so I say yes you could take a woman's virginity.

I believe that a person performing a mutual sex act with another person is actually sex, regardless of what type of act occurred.  So, yes, if it was her first sex act with another person, you would be "taking her virginity."
  •

Julian

If you're the first person she's had sex with, as far as I'm concerned, you absolutely could.

This has got me thinking. My last partner was my first for a bunch of sex acts, but the first person I had intercourse with was my current partner. Whom did I lose my virginity to? This is why virginity is stupid.
  •

sonopoly

I agree, Julian.  I think a lot has to do with religious beliefs, which I have a problem with.

BTW this is only my opinion.

i dont really know but penetrative sex is always losing your virginity in my opinion so if you had a prosthetic/dildo then you could take a girls virginity.
