Sounds good, hopefully everything goes well for you down there.  Dr. Cardenas is one of the doctors I'm considering for my eventual FFS (which is several months away, at the very least).

FFS photo results of his. What made you decide to go with Cardenas? Was it cost savings or have you any experience seeing his results?
   Their office told me that he performs the "open technique" as opposed to an endoscopic procedure. In the wrong hands the open technique can be troublesome.

Yes, as I understand it the bone around the sinus area is removed, shaped and re-installed with a titanium plate and screws.
Someone correct me if got it wrong.

that's right, but that's the technique that most ffs surgeons perform and it has best results.

Zukowski in Chicago does. You will find info on the technique on his website. According to him when the open technique is not done properly you could have
a sinus headache for life. I would rather look like Godzilla than have a sinus headache the rest of my life. I can't figure out whether he's the only honest one in regards to the negative consequences of the open technique or if he's full of B.S.. I've gotten quotes from six different FFS docs and my decision on which Dr. I'll use is hanging up on this issue.

And Tristan, I am thinking of going to see Dr Cardenas also in February. I will decide the date after meeting Dr Z in TO. It would be nice to have the two of us down in Mexico to help each other and for support

Yes Ananicole, Dr Z. is coming to TO January 18th. You have to call his office to reserve your seat for the lecture and u also need to book a private appointment with him if you want a one to one consult.

Hey, Tristan! I am so happy to read that everything was ok with Dr. Cardenas. I myself am considering to get my FFS with him too, my budget wouldn't allow me to visit another Surgeon. (Sadly it doesn't allow me to visit Cardenas either.) And well, I live in Mexico, so it is easier for me to get in contact with him.  I look forward to see your results, dear.

Tristan, did you write a review on your FFS for Dr. Cardenaz' blog as well? I was just wondering, there are quite a lot reviews on his blog. Yesterday I couldn't find anything with your name on it.

There are two very detailed reviews in the "links to more reviews" section.
I think they and the others are legit.

Mexico would be a 14-24 hrs flight for me, depending on the airline. But even with an expensive airline, I would still save about 5000-6000 US-Dollars for the same procedure compared to U.S. or European surgeons. This is a lot.

The only thing I was wondering about is that there are no before and after pictures on his website.
