Could be a favorite book, movie, album, game, tv show, play, concert, meme, event, news item, thing that someone said, personal achievement... whatever.

Normally I don't like trying to decide because it's not so clear.  But my favorite album from 2011 is Ernst Karel's "Swiss Mountain Transport Systems."  It's so... different.  Ambient, both quiet and startling, not composed or performed but just beautifully recorded.

As far as movies go, I was not blown away by the Pirates move, was somewhat entertained by Harry Potter and Thor, so I guess I'd have to pick X-Men First Class.  Not a great year.  I've been told I should see Sucker Punch though.

As for reading, I am so far behind that even guessing what years my reading pile date from is futile.  But the non-fiction book I read this year that most stands out is "Delusions of Gender."

Favorite concert was Kodo in Bloomington, Indiana.  If I keep playing taiko the rest of my life and get twice as good every year until I can't lift bachi anymore, I'll never catch up with them.

Getting on HRT, finally.

Everything is same as the last year.
and the year before that.

Getting a hysterectomy; it sent my mental health downhill 'til I ended up on anti-depressants, but overall I'm much healthier for it.
Because I went downhill, I can add - finding out just how amazing my friends, family and employers really are :)
Brother got married.
Persisting with OKCupid - I now have a potential date to look forward to in the New Year ;D
Oh, and not forgetting  - finally figured out my true identity ^_^

Sucker Punch was fantastic.  :D

My favorite parts of this year were getting together with my wonderful partner, and finding out I can get top surgery. Honestly, the rest was kind of a mess.

I guess I should add:  contemplating my identity and researching gender identity enough to make it here instead being totally in the dark.  Certainly not always easy, but I still feel like I won a prize.

The performance we did at the Millenium Hotel... we had such an awesomely happy audience and it was my first real gig with the group.  Other shows were less memorable or way more stressful and difficult.

Starting on Qi Gong, or rather, the few moments when it came together so much and felt so good I wanted to laugh out loud.  (More often it's "why am I doing this?" or "can the pseudoscience already.")

Getting my letter, starting HRT, starting RLE, and hearing "Connie" appended to the end of "I love you" for the first time.

Finishing my book, not losing my job, moving in this (rather lovely) house with decent folk, meeting lots of new people who I like, becoming mostly vegetarian, and so having to learn how to cook.

The Muppets Movie...I was filled with pure, child-like joy through the whole thing.  It was fantastic.  But the year as a whole was good too (also, new Murakami novel!  That always makes me happy).
If curiosity really killed the cat, I'd already be dead.

My favorite thing about 2011 was that I finally experienced being drunk and managing to chug down Vodka without throwing up.
Push it baby, push it baby, out of control, I got my gun cocked tight and I'm ready to blow. ;)

Cycled 100 miles in 6 hours 53 mins and paddled the length of the river Thames (about 125 miles) with my wife in 6 days. Not bad for an overweight 45 year old!

Best things from 2011 were getting my name changed, my letter for hormones, getting out of a really closed minded area and getting a decent job.

The cake was finalizing the divorce, the topping was starting HRT. Not minor thing was not to have to travel overseas,

Yeah, but you all got Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which is only limited release in the US (apparently not where I live at all).  :D  ...Muppets was probably better though.  :P
