TOPEKA, Kan. - Kansas cannot punish illegal underage sex more severely if it involves homosexual conduct, the state's highest court ruled unanimously Friday in a case watched by national groups on both sides of the gay rights debate.

WHAT!!!!!!!  How can you justify 17 YEARS for a sexual encounter????  I guess if one person is 40 and the other is 14 that's a problem, but 18 and 14.  Yeah the older one should have stayed away, but still...17 years!  That's a tad extreme.  AND how did it take 5 years for this to get overturned?  America...gotta love it!
