Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I spent about twenty minutes trying tofigure out where I should put it.

I was just curious as to whether or not anyone from Susans had ever organised a meet-up? And if they did, how many people went, what did you all do?
If not, how come? Would you be interested in a meet-up? Or would you be too shy/worried to meet up with people you've only met online.
If you were interested, how far would you be willing to travel?

I just thought that meetups might be a good idea for those of us like myself, who don't have access to LGBT support groups and stuff.
What do you think?

I've met a few people from here in person, but never with an official meetup gathering.

I would be interested in meeting anybody from Susan's who can get to Portland OR, and I wouldn't mind facilitating such an event. I wouldn't be much worried or shy because we all have issues, and because I've personally said a lot about myself already. Why start worrying now, right?

I would not be willing to travel outside of Trimet (and maybe Ctran) range, so I'm kinda limited in that.

I have (kinda estranged) loved ones in Chattanooga and New Orleans, and might could maybe at some point meet up with Susan's people there, if I ever visit those loved ones. I can get free plane tickets occasionally from a flight attendant friend.

Anyway, I think meeting up in person is a great idea. :)

I'm with you Felix, I'm really keen on attending or even co-organising something, but I don't think there are many Australians on the forums, much less Melbournites. :( It's a shame we're all so spread out.

We can all meetup thru webcam, hehe.

Webcam can work for two or three people, but as soon as you get more than that it can get pretty hectic. I'd be keen on webcamming if anyone wanted to talk to me though.
Mind you, I don't have much to say about anything.

I can think of several Susan's Australians off the top of my head, but I don't think any of them are in Melbourne.

This issue is kind of why a lot of us are on the internet in the first place. There are so relatively few of us in any given place. :P

Well there are quite a few Aussies at Susan's. Karen, Sarah, Kelly and I met up in Adelaide and had a great night at a restaurant in Glenelg.

I know of a few Aussie FtM.

Why not start a thread asking for FtMs in Australia? And organise a meet from there?

Hugs to all my Brothers

And I wish you all a fantastic 2012

Oh wow. I did, and I'm struck by a few things. For one, it looks like places on the gulf coast of the U.S. Also, I didn't realize how young your country is. Glenelg is one of the oldest cities in Australia, but it was settled in 1836. That just denotes white settlement, of course, but still. Also the Scottish-rooted place names is something that also figures strongly in the American South, where I come from.

Anyway. I hate to admit it, but most of what I'd known of Australia until recently involved racism and platypuses (and koalas and kangaroos). And the dreamtime concept as it was depicted in Maxx comics.

Glenelg is nice.  We had a great dinner and hopefully there will be more chances for Susanites to do similar.   Anyon who is going to be visiting in Tasmania should PM me, so we can at least "do lunch."

Regarding our short history Felix, I said to somebody a little while ago that as the last First Fleet passenger died in 1856, it is virtually certain that there are people alive today who met someone who met a First Fleeter.

We don't really have History, we have Family History!  That means we are a unique society in a way, that can be more focused on the Present and the Future.

If I could meet some people on here from Susans then that would be awesome.  Sadly I don't know anyone here that's in SC.  I like the webcam idea though.

Too bad no one is Fairbanks! I would love to meet the folks on this site. Everyone has been great. I wouldn't mind webcam at all, since I pretty much live on that thing with my partner gone. I might scare people with my less than clean sense of humor though.  :D

I almost met a couple of people in London last year, but we missed each other. Still up for meeting people in London (as it's easy to get to) or the south-west of England.

We'll just have to remember to make contact if we are going to be travelling.  I hope to make a trip to Europe next year, mainly to France, but would love to meet up with my Susan's family in the UK as well.

The offer for anyone coming to Hobart still stands too.

Karen.

I would like to meet some folks off of this website.  However, I live in Tacoma, WA and I don't know if anybody would be interested in meeting over here for a gathering.  It would be interesting to meet those of you who are on here.
