Not that I know of however one of my very best friends is a real true blue shaman...

QuoteAbout Bridget Wolfe
Bridget Wolfe is a teacher, writer, storyteller, personal coach and guide.  She has taught and run groups in various aspects of Shamanism in the United States, England and Ireland and has led journeys to sacred places in the American southwest, Mexico, South America, and England.  She holds MA degrees in English and Clinical Psychology and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Her relationship with the Shamanic world and the World of Faerie began as a child and much of her adult life has been spent pursuing those mystical early connections.  She has spent almost 30 years studying Shamanism with teachers from North and South America, England, Africa, and Hawaii.

When the Fairies asked John to build them a house, they began whispering their stories to Bridget.  She writes the story vignettes for each house and, being an avid gardener, creates miniature Fairy garden habitats for her Faerie World friends.

After years of living in Los Angeles and New York, John and Bridget were led (by the Fairies, of course) back to the more natural settings of their hearts where they can laugh with the blue jays and listen to the eagles call.  They make their home on the central Oregon Coast, where Fairies dance on the water in the early morning, whisper in the fir trees, and make the apples blush. They live with a number of cats and acres of woods and gardens filled with Fairies and other Folk who provide continuous inspiration.

The Fairy Woodland Fairy Houses were conceived, born, and continue to grow from Bridget and John's collaboration.

I've dabbled with Celtic geomancy in the past, but I wouldn't consider myself a full-blown shaman at all.  I'm more of a spiritual force of nature.

I'll think of myself as transgendered in the sense of transgressing and transcendanting the gender boundaries and not as transexual leaving one gender behind to move to the other.
I have studied the Personnal Totem Pole Process  with Steve Gallegos and Margaret Vasington.  I'm certified as a guide and teacher by the International Institute for Visualisation Research. I practice and teach the Totem Pole Process for the last 9 years. I regularly participate in both Karl Big Heart's and Yves Sleuh's sweat lodges. I also specialise in organising visits and journeys to pre-christian celtic holy places in Ireland and read power stones. At the moment I am developing a teaching program for proper leadership integrating the Visionary, the Warrior, the Teacher and the Healer in each of us
Does that make me a Shamman or just a very spiritual person, connected and opened to the marvelous diversity and intricacy of the universe? I don't care much about labels anyways.

Don't worry about it hon.  Take care of yourself for now, do the things you have to do and we'll have plenty of time for our reading.  TN?  Wow!  All the best sweetheart! :)

i suppose the true definition of a shaman is "one who knows". the word shaman comes from the tungus people and it literally means," one who knows".

a shaman enters the world of spirit by shamanic journeying and brings back teaching and healing from  the other side..they also perform soul retrievals unblock energy trapped in the chakras.. any way, they say that if you dream then you are a little bit shaman

Welcome to Susan's timberwolf!

Been interested in shamanism since reading Casteneda and Eliade. Shaman's are also the self/re-created being. The death and destruction of the self and concommittant re-creation into a new spiritual being parallel the T persons journey closely. I'm actually going back to college to study psychology, with a focus on the psych of self transformation. Look forward reading more from you and others on the subject.

Been interested in shamanism since reading Casteneda...

Ya know, the funny thing is I started reading Castaneda... ALL of them... because I had this feeling it held the keys to figuring out how to become female. And I mean from birth.

And while the earlier books were interesting, it was last book, "The Art Of Dreaming," that sent chills down my spine from page one. Page after page, here was my life, my OTHER life, the real one... being described and explained in painful detail. I felt raped, violated, and yet... my God, "I'm not the only one!" Oh, I know about the inorganics alright... we have... a history going back to my childhood.

And whadaya know, the last chapters of the last book... The Tenant. The Death Defier. The one who defied the inorganics by twisting his assemblage point around so that his physical form and life became female.

It's a little trick I SO gotta learn, lol...
