I have been involved with a woman who had kids and in the end she was just using me but even aside from that I don't want to go down that road again.  I can barely take care of myself let alone another person's kids.  Most mothers are very mature as well and I am lacking in the mature area so I would want to find a lady who is more or less where I am at in my stage of life.
