Hi,everyone,I'm a new guy from china, first i may apologize for my poor english :-)

I'm 6 feet tall and wear a US 8.5 mens. Not very tall for a man but huge for women, and I can't find any wmn's shoe in china!
The biggest wmn's shoe I've ever seen is about 8 in my country.By coincidence,I bought a us10 ninewest wmn's oxford heel online,and
it fits perfect (the seller is a chinese who have bought this shoe in a american outlets)

Recently, I got a job invitation in U.S.A,I'm very happy and thinking my spring dream might come true.
So,I'm sincerely asking:
1. Is that common for a women being 6 feet tall in U.S.A since you guys are much taller than us chinese.
2. Can I buy US10 wmns shoes in U.S.A without searching internet for a long time?

Greetings~
And apologize for my poor english again.

Being six feet tall is a little uncommon in the US; a woman will stand out a bit at that height. I'll note, though, that there are many 6" women there, so it's not as bad as it sounds. On the other hand, size ten women's shoes are pretty common in stores in the US. I've seen up to size eleven being sold at places like Wal-Mart, myself. Your shoes will be no problem. :) And to be honest, your height isn't really that big of a deal in the US.

And your English is fine :P .

Best wishes!

I'm 5'6 and in Canada 5'6 is pretty tall for a girl :/, most guys are 5'5-5'7 at most. i rarely ever meet a girl as tall as me, very very rarely.

What part of Canada? In my area of BC a lot of girls are close to 5'6 (guys tend to be about 5'8-6'0). Of course, maybe me being 5'3 just makes everyone seem really tall.

U sure? Statics said that in the city i lived (Peking), girl's average is 164.50 (5'4 plus a half) at the age 20~25,while boy's average is 174.17 (5'9)

While I should say,it's the tallest area in china and our parent's generation are much more shorter.

I am in the 6'' club too, and I wonder where to find decent clothes. For sure not in fashion stores. As regarding my shoes, 10 male i guess, very hard to find a woman equivalent, not in a drag queen shop

I'm 5'10 to 5'11 which is pretty average for a man in Australia. I'm not too worried about it though because it's not uncommon for women to be my height or taller. Most of our women are tiny though so I'm a giant a lot of the time. If I was any taller I wouldn't transition . I consider 5'11 to be the cut off.

i think i must slim down a lot if i want to transition, and altough i am 6 ft and have long feets I don't have a second option, it's just a matter of when i will start and how long will it take.
Weight is really an issue i think, because life as a man is unsatisfactory, i really can't full express myself, so i eat too much, whil to start being gradually more androgene i should loose 15 kg i think, so basically i compensate in the opposite direction.
I hope to put strength in work and in things I do enough to have more satisfactions, so maybe I will start eating less without feeling the need too much.
Did you have the same problem for weight or you were always skinny?

I had the opposite problem - was anorexic. I spent the last year adding 15 pounds to my weight to bring me up to the bare minimum for healthy.

Personally, I like my height. The most common comment on it I get is "you should model." ;)

Me too, when I was in high school,I can kept my weight around 65kg(145lbs) with eating a lot and playing basketball everyday.
But when I go to college,My weight quickly drop to a scary 54kg simply because not accustomed to the local food.
All my boy's clothes are either too baggy or too short ( May the reason why I like to wear wmn's clothes all day even beforce transition  ;) )

So I have a good chance to fight with my weight issue again when I come to U.S,I'm a chillies lover,sigh......

I'm 5'6" and am about the same height as most women in my area, while most men tend to be a little taller than me. I wear a women's US Size 10 shoe and have had no problems finding shoes. I do need to be careful to buy them in the Wide size, though. My feet are somewhat wider than most women who wear a 10.
Call me Dana. Call me Cait. Call me Kat. Just don't call me late for dinner.

I'm in the US, not trans, and I'm 5'10" and 3/4's.

Yep, that's my shoe size and I don't really have issues finding shoes in that size.
Be yourself.  Everyone else is already taken.   :)

I'm 5' 10" 146 pounds, wear juniors 7-9/misses 4-6 slacks, juniors L-XL/misses M tops, a 36A bra and size 10 womens shoes- I see at most 2-3 girls my height a day and it seems to be a lot more common for younger people in their teens or 20's than their 50's like me. I'm sure that's part of the reason I am often told I look to be in my 30's. Anyway, no problems finding shoes in my size. The bigger problem is that designers cater to a size 6-7 foot and alot of styles don't look good scaled up to a canal boat that will fit me :(

Here are some actual US height statistics:

All that said, I'm just not that tall that I get side ways glances. I dress around my body like every other flatchested beanpole, avoid vertical stripes like the plague but I refuse to live in flats. LOL, at my height a couple more inches doesn't really matter although I just don't wear anything over a 3 1/2" heel.

But the interesting part is the conversations I have with strangers. Women come up to me out of the blue, ask me if I am a model because I am so tall and pretty (tall yes, but pretty is a stretch). They go on about how lucky I am to be tall, how they always wished they were tall and they invariably have a niece or granddaughter who is six foot plus and want to know where I buy my slacks.

Height and skinniness are coveted attributes in our culture. I may be taller than the norm but after 2 ½ years, 1000 or so hours presenting as female, I just don't feel it affects my ability to pass.

I'm an ftm and being born a woman and not on T yet I'm 5'5" and have a size 9.5 size shoe in mens. I'm still very young with plenty of time to grow but already my feet are bigger then my friends that are girls and I'm taller then all of the girls as well. My shoe size and height matches other boys my age and that helps me with seeing my self as a boy as well as my masculine arms and legs. Sorry about ranting a little I've just always been proud to share my dads shoes and being almost as tall as him since age 14.
