I still don't get it why PASSABLE POST-OP GODDESSES like revealing they are trans?  :-\ Ok, it's ok to tell to family, to close friends and close ones but to go creating YouTube accounts and going on local TV channels etc... I find it not wise. Some straight men would accept a beautiful transwoman but MAJORITY of the straight men are 'strict straights' and will still have that bigotry of 'Ewww, she was born a man, there was a penis in that same spot before, it's just a castrated men, you won't be able to bare me a child, you're just a castrated man etc...'

I saw VERY BEAUTIFUL POST-OP "STILL" HEAVILY INSULTED on Youtube by strict straight guys. The worst I saw some telling to the Goddess Kelly van der Veer of Netherlands "What a CREATURE, I'll stab IT to death with a knife"(AND I'M 100% SURE IF THIS VERY SAME PERSON DIDN'T KNOW SHE WAS TRANS, HE'D LIKE TO HOOK HER UP, HOW HYPOCRITE THEY ARE) or others would say ambiguous stuff as "You are very beautiful but I still will not make it with you cos I want a natural woman". They don't realize how much more they would be appreciated by straight men if just they kept their mouth shut.

And it's not only about straight men but the WHOLE SOCIETY, society would be more likely to accept you if you say you're a bio woman than a transwoman cos of all the prejudice we face heavily. They will view you as a '3rd gender' and not consider you and treat you like a real bio woman, and for the jealous midgets, they will use your trans thingy to downgrade you always.

And what about you? Do you think a very beautiful passable post-op should reveal she is trans to everyone or NOT? Give reasons for your answer.

I think it's an individual choice whether to reveal yourself or not.  The girls you are talking about are extremely brave, and help to make us more visible (and perhaps more accepted).  I don't think I could do it personally, but I have a huge amount of respect for someone who has the guts to be that open about themselves.

Re: Joyce

Being born transsexual eats up your brain.   It causes you to focus your whole being on your wrong-gender issues.

Transitioning is such a wonderful relief that it's difficult to stop shouting about it from the rooftops.   You want everyone to know.  You want to tell the world.  As you start on hormones and live full time, you want to tell everyone you meet.

Most people don't care.  They really don't want to know.  They have their own problems and really can't comprehend yours.

Many true transsexuals will tell you that the moment they came out of the anesthetic after the surgery, they knew their brain was changed.  They will tell you that they were forever changed and cured of being transsexual.   They will say that they are now women, plain and simple.  As you go through the recovery period and adapt to life as a woman, you stop talking about it.  You ARE a woman, just like half the population.  They don't talk about it, why should you?

Finally, you are just you.  The woman.   When you meet people, you don't introduce yourself as "Alice, the person with the birth defect".   You are just Alice.  No more, no less.

It's time for Alice to be Alice.  You meet guys, you date guys.  Guys come and go from your life.   They're guys, wanting what guys want, doing what guys do.

At some point, you may get serious.   Most will say it's time to talk.  By then, they know and love Alice.

I don't believe the best way to live is to constantly talk about your birth defect.   I don't believe it's best to focus your whole life on your birth defect.  I don't believe it's best to show everyone your birth defect.   You're Alice.

Many will disagree with this.   I am who I am and I don't talk about my past to everyone, unless they have a serious need to know.  Casual acquaintances have no reason to know.  It's not a secret, it's just not on the front page.

Hi there, do know according to official statistics/pollings if majority of us reveal or NOT reveal?

As an activist, I will always identify as transgender even if I pass one day.

Personally, i don't want to be seen as a cis woman because i am not a cis woman. Cis women didn't go through what we have been through, I want to wear my transition with pride.  ^-^
As for what you mentioned about straight cis men accepting beautiful trans women...I don't do things for "straight cis men" I do things for myself as a trans woman, being accepted by cis straight men isn't my goal in life, accepting myself is and I would hope the same for other trans women.

Whether or not I'll ever be "very beautiful and full-passable" remains to be seen. But even if that will happen, I will not hide my past. I am not ashamed of who I've been. I've sired two kids and will always be their father.

So, that's my take on it.

I don't get it either. Intellectually I can understand it and see even a need for the person and for the of society in general to do it. Personally, I wouldn't. Way too risky for my blood.

Kia Ora HP,

::) It's quite possible a passable [attractively so] trans-woman's motive for revealing herself is to do with the 'frill factor' 'shock value'..."The look on their face when I told them, was priceless!"  :icon_yikes: Mind you this would be done in an environment where they felt safe doing so...

::) Another possibility/reason could be they want to get in first before they are outed by others...As many already  know, it can be a dog eat dog[or bitch eat bitch  ;)] world out there[for the competitive trans-women]...

Maybe they're just comfortable with who they are and don't feel it should be a secret?

It's not impossible for someone to like being trans.

I  don't think anyone's passable. Not even those beautiful ones that start HRT when they are 12. There's always people who can tell.

Aren't there cis women with physical characteristics that could be considered trans-like?
Be yourself.  Everyone else is already taken.   :)

That is so true.

I think I pass on a very superficial level... somewhere between female impersonator and gender illusionist... I have a feminine appearance and can pull off many different looks. But that isn't the same as someone who was BORN GENETIC XY-FEMALE...sorry, not transgender women will ever be on the same level as a woman born woman. It's a sad truth...

Are everyday people aware? errr. Probably not. The people we surround ourselves with take us at face value and "is that a ->-bleeped-<-?" is the last thing on their mind.

Especially horny ass men who need cataracts. LOL

Men have larger ripcages, wider jaws, square faces, larger skulls, different hand shapes, different proportioned limbs, etc

Women have a lighter bone structure, triangular jaws, small hands, longer legs, etc

Again...If you're looking at things either through rose colored glasses or on a superficial level.

This is starting to get to me. I'll start to answer a question about my background and have to make a judgment call whether to change the subject, fudge the details, or out myself.

Plus I have a kid and my legal status as her parent often has to be clarified. I'm also politically active and tend to get involved in civil rights issues, where it helps to be out.

I probably wouldn't tell a soul if I didn't have strong reasons for doing so.

(I know I'm a boy, not a very beautiful and "full-passable post-op." :P)

The simple answer is to help other transwomen by sharing their secrets and showing those of us just beginning that it is possible to live a normal life as a woman. Giving someone hope goes along way confidence wise.

I am sure one day you'll discover gold and be richer than all the kings in Africa.

Now that's hope!

I disagree. A good number of people (both guys and girls) actually don't believe me when I tell them I'm trans. They think I'm joking or just testing them or something.

Same here.

One of my gay friends confronted me once and said, "what is with you, you're a crazy ass ->-bleeped-<- hag. I mean why are you so obsessed with gay men...are you insane?"...

then I showed him my ID and things all made sense.

Some women come out also because of the lack of role models for younger trans women. Take Janet Mock for instance. I mean the number of role models we have is a very small number.

Honestly, if I could ever pass, be beautiful, etc.  and go stealth, I may come out later just to help others. What's wrong with that?
