Hello my name is Andrew and I identify myself as trans. My family doesn't know except for my sister. I felt like my sister would be the most supporting out of everyone but she told me she would be devastated to lose her "Big Sister". I know that ever since I came out Lesbian to my mom, my mom's been putting a lot of her hopes for a "perfect daughter" onto my sister. Our mom has put a lot of pressure on us to be girly and want to do things that all other girls like. I don't hate her for that because I know the only reason she acts like that is because she didn't have the chance to be a teenager. Growing up she was too worried about having enough money to buy food or clothes so it makes sense that she wants the best for us. I feel like I have a lot of pressure on me to keep this family together. I know it's kind of a clique to be a teenager and want to end my life when the going gets tough but I can't help it. I feel like I'm dying on the inside sometimes and it's because I can't be myself with them and I can't live knowing I've broken their hearts and made them feel like it's their fault that I'm trans.

Currently I'm trying to lose weight, get a job and find a therapist to get as much of my transition out of the way ( at least the parts that aren't too obvious to my family )

I joined this forum in hopes of finding people like me or anyone who's felt like me.

First suicide is not an option.  It will not solve anything.
You are young. You have a happy and fantastic life ahead of you. Guess 'one'  what this site is full of people who have thought like you and many are now happy and many have left to live totally normal lives.
Guess what 'two'. We are totally normal people. As you are. You are not a freak. You are not odd. You are not sick. You are completely normal.

So guess what 'three' get used to being normal, get use to being happy, get used to being with friends. There is no reason to feel bad about yourself.

From this post on you have no reason to be lonely. You have no reason to be misunderstood.

Hi Andrew, welcome to Susan's. This is a good place.

It looks honestly like you're having to be a man before you've even learned to be a boy, and while your family is giving you the message that they need you to be a girl. Try to hang on. A lot of people struggle during their teenage years, especially transpeople. Don't let anybody make you feel like your problems are silly, or that you're just a kid and therefore can't validly judge your own life.

Stick around and keep talking, kay? You'll find some cool people, and plenty who think the way you do. Check out the ftm forums in particular.
