Hmm...I guess I coddle Jocelyn too much, but the poor kid needs it! She's not as bad as that article is suggesting so I guess it doesn't apply all that much.

I have bought lots of clothes for her, I surprise her with it...but we wear almost the same size, so it's kind of like buying clothes for both of us! I'm not really possessive of my clothing, but there are definately things of mine she won't wear, and vice versa!  She has bought her own cosmetics, but I sometimes will surprise her with a lipstick that was on sale that I thought would look nice and so on and so forth.  She never asks. She never demands.

The one thing is that she has me do her makeup every time. Do you think I'm actually hindering her by being too helpful?

I think you are just doing what anyone would normally do for a loved one.  Heck, I also like to be pampered once in a while.  However, the article mainly refers to some TS/TG girls who have this "you owe me" kind of attitude to the point of being selfish and unhealthy.

Seriously, Cindi, you're a nice gal, why don't cha get a good shopping buddy?  Unless your like me who gets easily irratated by other people's shopping habits, for example: My mom. That woman makes me crazy when she shops! She will pick something up and then hem and haw about it for like 5 minutes, then take it with her all over the store until 2 seconds before she gets into the checkout lane and changes her mind. Then multiple that by like 10 items! I'm a quick shopper, if I like it, like how it fits, and like the price, it comes home with me. The end.

There really needs to be a "How to Be A Girl" manual, as some of us don't always pick up on it intuitively.  Heck, some natal girls don't pick up on it intuitively, either, but they're not penalized for it as heavily.  Actually, my catalyst, Hazumu, the boy who became a girl, had just such a manual.  But it exists only in a comic book

Cindi is, er - ahm, a bit 'isolated' where she lives (beautiful view, though,) and even with a shopping buddy, the decent stores with decent selection are considerably more than a half-hour away.  (mental note to self: make time to go visit Cindi for a weekend.)

Tink:  Jocelyn was a member, but she never posts and like, never stops by anymore so she probably erased.
She's too busy with her deviant art account and rpg maker or whatever. I think she doesn't really want to deal on her condition, in my opinion. But um...we've talked a lot lately and things are working out well now that we're on the same page. Little bumps in the roads is what life is about, anyways, otherwise it'd just be boring!

Karen: I absolutely loved Kashimashi! It's like a guilty pleasure. If you want a "how-to" manual I would suggest Glamour magazine and Allure magazine, they have a lot of good tips for all kinds of women's challenges from beauty and health issues to careers and shopping. Just don't get discouraged by the unrealistic images of women that you'll find in there and for heaven's sake don't buy any of the clothes you see in fashion sections (ie. you'll need to read between the line a bit)

Cindi you could come to my two horse town and shop with me. Sounds like the both of us are isolated. I use to love to shop for cute things. Jeans, cowboy hats, boots are all I can shop for where I live. That is why I kind of go wild when I go to the city. I want things that are very fem. Not to many people ever see me in them, but I feel good getting them.
