Parkside Swimming Pool.

The revamped Parkside Swimming Pool now boasts male, female and 'gender neutral' changing areas – the first facility in Cambridgeshire to do so.

The Cambridge city centre pool reopened its doors on Monday after being closed for two months for a major £350,000 refurbishment of its changing facilities.

Previously the pool provided male and female changing areas and four small cubicles designed for families in addition to provision for disabled swimmers.

But after input from the city's transgender community stating that some individuals felt uncomfortable changing in the family cubicles or the disabled changing rooms as they did not fall into either category, the changing area now consists of cubicles allocated within male, female and 'gender neutral' areas.
