I dont think so, you wouldnt be in transition anymore. Dr. Bowers was asked if she considered herself a transexual. She stated no she hasn't been in transition in a long time. She is all women.

I don't think labels matter.
People will always put one on you.
You can't tell anyone "Oh I'm not a transsexual anymore since I have a vagina now, so it doesn't count."

What matters is how you think of yourself.
If you wanna flaunt being trans, then do it.
I know I'm proud to be a ->-bleeped-<-, I could tell everyone in my downtown area if I wanted to.

Ah so? Now really? Male and Female labels matter one heck of a lot for the latest US security issues just for a starter, also they do matter LOTS in hospitals, see my comments below.
It's too easy to just state "labels don't matter" in fact if you ask me they matter one hell of a lot, lest you own a car and it's a bicycle and it makes no difference either, just by example.

Post-op... I guess it be 'correct' - YET NOW IF MY ID SAYS OTHERWISE??? Checking between my legs then? Maybe...

It will take over ONE year for either German and SA authorities to just get that done (to change my ID)... say no more!

Yet, most correct for post-op MtF be SEX = female ------------ with a transsexual history...
in case they want pap-smears, and try to find your uterus, ovaries, there be none, and no hysterectomy scar either... yes?

Now let's see what else be suggested to the OP's question.

BTW, the same be true not only for MtF. To answer SEX = Male, with all those girl part present......... well? Go get a prostate check-up, and get tested for testicular cancer? Really? Hum.

Yes.

Transsexual is a medical term too. You will always be one according to doctors, and it is absolutely necessary for a personal long term doc to know.

You can say or believe whatever nonsense you want, you will always, in some capacity, be a transsexual.

But i don't think a label really matters unless its for safety or things like that.
I'm so gender blind, I don't even care.

I will and would, for political reasons and i'm proud to be trans.
But I am not planning on having surgery.

Transsexual is a discriptor of my past so yes. and really others are too but I'm not going to argue with them about it.

That may be so in the "real world" but it doesn't mean labels have to matter or as strictly adhered to, and you don't have to be confined within their limitations when self-identifying.

Yes, I might be labelled as 'transsexual' even post op in a medical capacity, but in my own life, and how I see myself? I don't really care, I'm not the 'transsexual', I'm me, who happened to be born phenotypically male.

i am not sure if the question is for the common people and  how the society will see you..or if the question  if about legal and medic  labels? is not th same..and indeed that question have different answer in each country..there i live, poeple ONLY use the label Transexual whit POST-OP  for MTF ...whit FTM is another issue..because in Argentina  the society  discover what the FTM and the GID  exist   one year ago... xD ....yes....so bad are the things here xD

Every MTF non - op or pre-op is labelled as  travestite / crosdresser / transgender  here... but well is  more complex indeed ...because here  the word is "travesti" and literally translate mean travestite ... but the  english word crosdresser is used  for straigh man whit a sex fetish for this...

Depends. It all comes down to semantics and who is drawing the reference. For this reason (among many others) is why I hate labels. You are a unique and individual person. Period.

Yes, people can label themselves however they want, woman with a trans history or whatever anyone makes themselves feel better by calling themselves. Keeping medical stuff (that is medical, transitioning) from a doc can lead to disastrous consequences. It would REALLY stink to be post-op for many years, living stealth, then you get dx'd with prostate cancer, as a "woman with trans history." That would be a really tough one.

Yes, it is often important for a doctor to know your medical history. But that doesn't necessarily mean the condition is current. You can just as easily explain that you had transsexualism and had it corrected if that's your preference. It is just semantics, but it matters for some people in how they see themselves. I really don't know how I'll see it post-op; I'll find out then.

Secondly, it kind of bothers me to be called "a transsexual." I find being labelled like that by my condition a bit dehumanizing. Like being called "a disabled" rather than a disabled person. I am transsexual, but not a transsexual. Again it's just semantics, but it matters for how I see myself. I am a female. A transsexual female, sure. But a female.

Really, I don't see why people fuss over other people's labels. Call yourself a banana if you like. I'm totally cool with that.

Yeeees, a good point. In any case let me know of a single post-op that like to be called a transsexual. It sucks to be called such, you quite right with that.
Whether people will always get that? They may not say so, but as always: "Die Gedanken sind frei wer kann sie erraten..." (Thoughts are free, who ever will guess them...)

It is one of these things we have to live with, people being tolerant yet essentially un-accepting of our new 'label-status' e.g. "Female" only and yet more so after SRS.
There be always the potential for a stigma. Too bad.
