So I just had FFS, does this mean I need to update my photo on my driver's license?  And if it does then when?  I'm still majorly swollen so would much more time is needed.  Mine is up for renewal vs just a replacement at any point starting 4/26/2012 and must be by 4/26/2013.  I've already done the replacement thing once for my new legal name so this second will be tiny bit more.

I really don't care about the minor fees of replacing multiple times, but I don't want to antagonize the local Drivers License office either.

So do I need to do it now, or if I wait when is the ideal time to replace it?  I don't want a hassle from someone when I have to show my ID.  Our licenses are good for 5 years.  The last "official" renewal was in my last stages of denial and I was shaved totally bald.  It always felt awkward to have to use a license that didn't match so badly and I don't want to do that here, but then I don't want to look bloated on this one either.

For that matter is the picture so small and so stereotypically "bad" that I can get away with just leaving it until right before I turn 40 at the tail end of my renewal period.

Any suggestions?

When have other FFS patients replaced/renewed their licenses?

I replaced mine about a month after my facial surgery. Of course, I've totally changed my hairstyle since then, the swelling on my nose has gone down a lot further, I've managed to gain some weight, and the HRT effects on my face have progressed quite a bit. It still looks... kinda like me. Meh, nobody hassles me over it.

Sarah, I love the Hebrew Tatt! I have a pair on my wrists with my kids name on them. Very cool.

I changed mine about 2 months after surgery, when I was pretty confident that the healing was basically 90% done.

Also, I did not leave my house for those 2 months, except to go to McDonald's a few times
