I have accepted my ugliness and at times can find beauty in it, but i'm currently in a duller state.

At times I just try to put on some jewelry or stare in the mirror until i feel okay about myself again

What do you do to feel pretty?

Complain to my boyfriend til he's on the edge of his seat ready to throw a brick at my face.
I really did feel hideous before him, but now he's told me plenty of times I'm attractive til I accepted it lawl.

I'm pretty sure a regular friend couldn't do that though.
it wouldn't have mattered if they kept telling me I was gorgeous til I died.
So maybe it just takes someone special to fix all those negative thoughts in your cabeza.
At least for me, that's why I can't do therapists, I don't give a rats ass about them.

I go down to the corner and sell my body. It lifts my self esteem to have someone all over me.

Everyone is their own worst critic.  I bet none of you look as bad as you think you do.  :)
Be yourself.  Everyone else is already taken.   :)

I don't know if this will make you feel better or not but I think you're pretty  :)  and never really being satisfied or confident in your looks is a very female insecurity.  I feel that you are too hard on yourself and you should try to withhold judgment until you get to a place where you are comfortable with being YOU, the woman.  Feeling beautiful is as much emotional as it is physical.  How many people think they are hot stuff and you think ... ah, really  ???   (hope that makes sense)

I take care of myself, by making sure I get enough rest, eat well and exercise regularly. I find that by doing this I tend to feel better about myself in general, but I also quite often fail horribly on everything I just mentioned. :) But hey, maybe it works for you.

I agree. I don't think your looks are the problem.

Well, I certainly feel ugly too.  It's normal for us, but we are way too hard on ourselves.  We're not as hideous as we think we are.  Are we drop-dead gorgeous, stunning, beautiful, sexually attractive goddesses?  No.  Can we become women who are happy, 100% passable, and confident and satisfied with being average, everyday women?  Yes, if we fight hard to be.  No one is ugly anyway.  We're just not happy, honey.  If we felt good inside, we wouldn't feel so horrible all the time.

I also feel the same way sometimes i just feel like breaking down and crying, i usually just tell myself "it'll get better one day" and it helps sometimes, At this moment it's all i can do.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain, I like watchin' the puddles gather rain.

Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage

I'm hoping FFS in the hopefully near future will make make me somewhat more attractive. *hates own nose*
If not, then oh well. At least I'll be able to say I gave it my best.

Have a long HRT path before me anyway, so we'll see.

But as it is, I dislike my looks, to say the least. ;D

Hi.

I dought very much that you are ugly or close to that,

wether male , female or a mix it makes little difference , tho i would say more of us women feel we are not beautiefull , & many of the women from a womans forum im on will say much the same . it comes down to lack of....selfconfidence  selfworth. & being confident in ones self ,  it makes a difference in how we see our selfs, the age group is from 17 tho 70's , & of cause theres many reasons as to why.
Do we compare our selfs with others we percive as being more beautiefull than our selfs i belive so. then thats part of the issue.s

Do we accept who we are,   when you answer that youll see what i mean we all come in different shapes & sizes we all look different its comes down to being able to accept who we are , .
There is a inner beauty that we often miss,   why we dont see it  yet others see a lot more ,

From age 10 i did not like how i looked 54 years on im not a lot different in fact just being around other woman iv felt so ashamed of who i am & how i look or dont depending on how you see me..

Yes i dress nicely my clothes are lovely yet my facial features are so masculine looking yet im a woman. so how do you think i feel. different out of place not part of our womens groups , & think what the hell am i doing or trying to .... you know it gets at you.

My training where iv been & what i have done is what has helped   myself be strong ,  the hardships iv been through have worked for myself in such a way that says ,

Im one strong woman who can stand in front of many people talk to  large groups of people & be a woman in my own right.  my looks take  a back seat because i have an inner beauty that over comes my facial looks, I have an acceptance that does not include my looks ,

Ugly no,,  beauty is there to be seen,   its how you see that beauty & what you get from it,

Allow your inner beauty to come forth & youll see a big difference I cant do it for you only .....you ....can,

...noeleena...

I guess I'm your opposite. On days when I feel bad about how I look, I tend to avoid mirrors and dress more queer and towards the masculine side of my wardrobe. Like, ->-bleeped-<- it, I refuse to deal with "pretty" today. I can be hot in a totally other way.

I realize that option is partly available to me 'cause of my passing privilege, but I thought I'd share anyway. Hope that's okay.

Also, I don't think you are anything like ugly. It can help to remember that being gendered female and looking pretty don't need to have anything to do with each other. I realize the dysphoria makes that hard, but sometimes it can still help to remember you are attractive even if you aren't looking quite how you want yet. And it will get a lot better with time as your body and your perspective of yourself change.

I'm no pin-up myself, but you know what? my personality more than make's up for it. because at the end of the day, people remember you for what you did, not how big your nose is or if you have sticky-out ears.
