I just arrived back home in the states, and I am having lots of trouble dilating. I normally reach 6 3/4 easily BUT the last day in Thailand, I didn't get a chance to dilate and we had a girls night out, and my flight was at 4AM so to make a long story short I didnt dilate for quite some time, I am only 3 1/2 weeks post up and right now I can reach 6 inches with the smallest, but with the medium I can barely go past 5 if I am lucky, any tips? advice? am I bloated from flying for so long and its stopping it? Did I lose it? Can I regain it lol?

Congratulations elle,
You have done a remarkable job. I hope you are really proud of yourself. You have passed through such major surgery with absolute flying colours.

You have raised some interesting question. I'll attempt to answer them with the limited knowledge I have. And if those women that have gone before me, wish to trample me into the dust of the road; please do so.

"am I bloated from flying for so long and its stopping it? Most likely , yes. Being 3.5 weeks post op I suspect you should still have some internal swelling. However 6 inches with the small dilator is still a very good result. Within a few days of being home I would expect the swelling and bloating to subside substantially, putting you back on track.

"Did I lose it?" Essentially; No.

" Can I regain it ?" Absolutely. Within a few days.

Hope you enjoyed your girls night out. You certainly deserved it. Enjoy your new and absolutely wonderful life. I'm extremely envious of you at the moment.    Nevertheless, my day is coming.

Be safe, well and happy. (That's obvious :icon_mrhappy: )
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Well now... sitting on your hiny for some long time, would have pressed down, i.e. reduced the swelling of your perineum and in the wider sense your vulva, which are swollen for some time post-op.

This swelling (in my own experience) is a bit like sitting on a small bulge. If that bulge get pushed more flat, all it really has to go is inside. All this would contribute to an initial reduction of depth, easily 1" or even more.

Will you regain it?
Partially after quite some time, since the swelling will further go down and thereby effectively create less depth.

Continuing with dilating over the weeks and month will eventually give again some more depth. If that will be as much as 1" I'm not sure. We are all different after all.

In any case your depth, as you state it, seems still very good at 6" or even 5 1/2" which is more on the deeper side for most natal females. Of course assuming you not 6'6"... or some such. The taller and large boned you are, the more depth and width seem to come with it also.

I'd say - nothing to worry...

What I was told when i had my surgery with Suporn is this...when you are on a plane your body tends to swell, ever tried to take off a ring while you are in the air?? It's nearly impossible because your fingers have gotten fat! The same thing goes with your body, your vagina probably needs some time to get back to normal thats all.

I remember dilating when i got back to the States...it was very painful and hard. But you just gotta be rigorous...good luck!
