Transsexual Returns to Original Gender After Relationship With Christ
By Jeff Schapiro | Christian Post Reporter

Walt Heyer says that no one can really change their gender. He should know, too, because he's tried.

When he was only about five years old, Heyer's grandmother began to dress him as if he were a girl and even made a dress just for him. The result was a very confused little boy.

[...]

As an adult woman, he gave himself the name Laura, and lived under that identity for eight years.

After studying psychology while still living as a woman, however, he says he eventually realized that a person can't actually change genders and that he was delusional. He also later found out that he had a dissociative disorder and multiple personality disorder as a result of his haunting past.

Kia Ora,

All a bit sus I reckon.   Any decent psych should have picked up his problems early on and refused to take things further, that is if he wasn't doing it all single handed.  There is no mention of a Gender therapist anywhere in the article so I think it is all a bit dodgy.

How come we don't see articles like," I had a sex change after a religious epiphany"?  Or would that upset their fundamentalist agenda?
It's a bit like the miracle cures of illnesses that can have spontaneous remission.  Nobody reports a miracle cure of a broken leg, or male pattern baldness.  That would certainly create a lot of believers!

Well, methinks the man is a bit of a delusional, dissociative disordered and multiple personality challenged individual.

We do not even know it was Christ, or someone else he had a "Relationship" with... or? Delusional and all?

But his granny, well the poor dear - makes me wonder what motivated her. Sad.

Journo BS in any case, what more can one say?

Kia Ora,

"He says that one day he had a vision while praying with his psychologist. He saw Jesus pick up a baby version of himself, look at him and say, "You will now be saved with me forever." From that point on he could feel the Holy Spirit moving and guiding him in his life!"

::) And what does this tell you about the 'suggestive nature' and the bias held by the 'quack' who was suppose to be counselling him ?

What about finasteride? Or minoxidil? Should I start a cult religion?

If I want prayer, I'll go to a priest, but if I want some psychological conseling I should go to a psychologist that will do legitimate counseling and not praying!

He might not really be a transsexual after all.  I read the story closely this time and found that he was sexually abused as a child.  His grandmother didn't help things by dressing him in girl's clothing.  With other child molestation cases you will have those who will abuse other children as adults, experiment with homosexuality or even with transsexuality.  His case it may be "Transsexual by Proxy".  It is similar to Munchhausen Syndrome by Proxy, in which a parent or guardian instills a feeling of sickness on that child.  These children will have heath and mental problems, usually with hypochondria later.

Myself and most on this forum were never abused sexually nor forced to do the things of the other gender.  This fellow needs our prayers, patience and support.  He also needs to be informed that a good portion of us are actually born with this and there are valid explanations and theories of these.  The "repairative therapy" may have helped him address the underlying problems properly in this case.  He still has a lot to deal with.

I know I'll burn in hell for this. "Transsexual returns to original gender after relationship with Christ." Does that make Jesus a ->-bleeped-<- ->-bleeped-<-? Hugs, Devlyn

I have DID (aka "multiple personality disorder")...and fortunately, people *do* take me seriously.

One of the things abusers (and their enablers) use to control children is "You're just a kid, no one believes you".

In my case, I'm not delusional (DID people aren't; people who are schizophrenic, otoh, are)...and we (my therapist, also my dr) believe "Beth" is my primary "self." This is based not only on what I experience when I'm "her" (peace, serenity...and being clean (as opposed to being "filthy" when a man)), but also because the "others" inside are at ease with her, but with none of the others.

In fact, in the new SOC v7, DID is mentioned as resolving (or its effects mitigated) during TG transition in some cases.

This person claims that one can't change their gender...which is true, as far as it goes. We were all WOMEN at birth, but we didn't recognize it until a certain point in our lives (everyone is different as to "when"). I don't think anyone here was genuinely a "man", then one day decided, "Hey, I think I'll just grow some boobs and be a woman." There are far too many hurdles for that too happen (except maybe in the porn industry, or with people who are...odd.)

For him, changing genders was probably not a good thing.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...
