So I wrote this after coming out to my mom.  I thought maybe some could relate. 

Let's go celebrate
and you're like, "What just happened?"
Then, I'm home alone

My experience wasn't that bad, but after the fact, I was seeing a lot of humor in it.

Yeah like how many born boys have female souls? We're special.

I just meant to convey the relief that I felt and then the sudden desolation.  During which, my mom's just coming to grips with the news and not really knowing what to say.

Give her 48 hours.  Usually it's pretty bewildering for many parents.

No, no, things are fine now.  My mom really was open, but it was just unexpected for her, as it would be for most parents, I'd imagine.
