Hi, guys I'm new.

I'm a 26 yr old mtf who is finally about to take action in changing my life.

But allot of things worry me. While over all i have a more or less feminine looking appearance. My knees and my adams apple are troublingly prominent.

I know that i can have a tracheal shave for a ridiculous cost. I don't know the extent it will help my problem but i want it.

However my knees just look hideous too me.  It's always bothered me and probably been one of the things that held me back from being honest with myself.

Who wants to be an ugly girl right?

So my question is. And i Imagen I'm not going to like the answer but, is there something , anything i can do to make my legs look more feminine?

Currently i have legs/knees that look something like this:

:(

Is it possible in any way to develop either through hormones exercise/diet , or surgery legs like this?

Thanks guys i hope there is hope out there for people like me who has this problem. :/

Your knees aren't something you can change or IMHO worry about. There are plenty of girls with knees like that. If they really bother you, don't wear shorts or short skirts :P

What Stephe said, no one has the perfect body, we all have to hide and disguise bits.
You wear clothes etc to enhance the feature you like.

Not a problem

I'm worried about mine as well.. but I suppose its nothing compared to my shoulders...Maybe ill get just get implants of massive breasts so no one notices? >.>
I may side with the angels, but don't think for one second that I'm one of them.

Check out Thailand for Adam's apple change. It's cheap. If your knees look like the first pic, why worry? they look quite inoffensive.

Build up your legs more.  Cycle, Cycle a LOT (the kind you pedal not twist a handle).

It won't do anything for your knee, but a strong calf makes the knee more proportional.  You WILL get compliments and jealously from other women then.

Don't go for the spindly super model.  Go for the woman athlete look.

Lucky for me those are the last places to loose muscle and gain fat.  Otherwise the fact I haven't ridden seriously for more than a week in 6 years would have killed mine.  Work is finally becoming less intrusive (well that isn't true), but they aren't calling and interrupting anymore.  So when I recover from FFS and can ride again I will be out there every day at lunch.  With the right gear so you don't get cold, it is actually invigorating to ride in the rain.
Blessed Be!

I don't know if this is any consolation, but I'm FTM and my legs look closer to the first picture than the second. Their are plenty of FAAB people with thicker legs, so don't worry about it!

It would be easier to give an informing answer if you described exactly what it is you are unhappy with in regards of your legs.

However, to noneheless give a generalizing answer, then yes, it is fully possible to alter the apparence of your legs.
The following is what currently can be done regarding legs, surgically; Resculpting of the kness, shortening or lenthening of the Femur and/or the Tibula and Fibula-bones, and, Calf-implants to change the shape of the lower legs.

Again, it would be easier if you explained what it is you are unsatisfied with.

Fix legs?

Try dancing.  Dancers have very sexy legs, imho.

Hormone therapy may have some effect on the shape of the legs/knees due to fat redistribution and changes in skin texture, although bone structure will be largely unaffected. It may not be a great deal of change, depending on your specific biology, but even small changes can make big differences.

Honestly, I wouldn't stress over it. Even if your legs don't feminize at all on HRT, I don't think they are anything to be ashamed of as they are. Perfectly comparable to some ciswomen I know. (I'd guess all of us girls, trans or cis, have some feature we don't like about ourselves. ;) )
Call me Dana. Call me Cait. Call me Kat. Just don't call me late for dinner.

Are the lower legs (on the guy) bent, or is it just me? Looks like there is a serious curvature between the knees and ankles (and this is a straight-on photo)...

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

I will echo the advice about not worrying. My mother has more pronounced knees that you could recognize from a mile away. :D It certainly does not take away from her feminine appearance.

The look of your knees will most likely not change but that should not stop you from dressing cleverly to enhance other features you love about yourself.

The person in the first photo does appear to be more relaxed in posture now that you mention it.

Same here. And in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with the way your legs look, they look fine the way they are :)

Kaite Homes and Paris Hilton also have prominant knees but i think they have smaller bones.

Nope it's not just you that first photo is actually of a person with knock knees. Maybe it was a bad example but it was the best picture i could see.

That's true but i am kind of vain in that regard. Is it so wrong that i want to actually look beautiful as a woman? If i simply call myself female now, if i even got my gender legally changed  and do nothing to dress different, act different or look the way i want to then it would be pretty meaningless if you ask me. And people wouldn't accept me either. Not that i think i should care about that.

I just want to have beautiful legs. Maybe i'm vapid for it but it's still what i want. :/

I would love to dance but i don't think i could do it. I saw a news story on television about a male cheerleader bless him. It was for rugby. So this was more exotic/pop starlet style choreographed dance.
He did the exact same routine as the girls and they did everything to try and fit him in. But the poor boy just didn't fit in imo.

He seemed to have two left feet. He was slow and clunky. It could be he weighed more it could be the tendon/ligament structure of his body i don't know.
While i am thin and short and somewhat flexible i still find i am the same. :/
I often try to imitate dance scenes of women but I'm not very confident with my performance. Maybe with practice.
I don't know if HRT can help with that at all. If it can I'll give it a shot. If not I'd be too embarrassed to try. Are there any stories of dancers/figure skaters who are transgender and transitioned after puberty?

Hmm well I'm not entirely sure what my problem is as much as i waste countless hours stressing about this and making retarded google searches i would need an expert opinion on my sexual dimorphism.

However in regards to what I'm unhappy about. My knees look extremely bony they are too thick for my thighs. My legs are ok they i don't think i need a Tibula/Fibula shortening I'm pretty short for a guy. However the area around the knee is very jagged it isn't really round or smooth at all so maybe that could be helped by a Femur/Tibular/Fibular shave? I don't know i hope hormones may improve their aesthetic but i have very prominent knee caps prominent tendons.

I'm really curious as to what "resculpting of the kness" and Calf-implants involves and what it can do to make legs more feminine. I have only ever heard about Calf-implants for men. Body builders and such. Which is the exact opposite of what i want. xD

Though these procedures sound very expensive. My trachea shave will cost around $10,000+ no matter where i go. In Thailand the cheapest i saw was around $8,000 when air fare and accommodation will set me back around $2000 anyway. I'm also extremely poor and only just starting university. What on earth can i do to get this money together? :/

I'm kind of my suited to the supermodel spindly look though. xD

I mean i'm pretty small and i want to stay that way. But i might try it. I have kind of flabby looking calfs right now.  Mostly i just stretch and do some yoga.

Basicly what im hoping for and maybe its a ridiculous dream, but i hope to look similar to Alicia Liu even though I'm not asian.

Here's an extreamly ugly pic of me i took in november:

Yeah i know about the facial hair. I don't like shaving too often as i cut myself everytime and I'm worried it may grow faster/thicker.

I also have some skin problems which im trying to treat now.

Rosacsa and Keratosis which im trying to treat.

I seem to have some kind of strange immune disorder which has left me prone to skin infection.

It infected my scalp and i lost a lot of hair from it too. :(

I need alot of work lol xD

But im not giving up. Not yet anyway.

Okay, then I believe I understand exact what you are unhappy with in regards of your legs.
The problem you describes will most likely solve itself from hormones alone, which I assume you are planning on doing?
If so, then you just really have to wait the result oot, as the hormones will reposite the soft tissues in the legs and knees and give a whole other apparence.
I actually doubt that you will still be unhappy with your legs after a year or two on Estrogene, so in other words, you have very likely nothing to worry about. :)

I feel for you.
The only advice I can give is to "simply" get a bunch of jobs and save money as much as you can. Soon enough, that will give you a good amount of money.
If you can do it, however, is the question as it will indeed take some effort.

As for the cost for your Tracea Shave, the following Surgeons are atleast a bit cheaper than your hitherto found prices for the procedure;

The following Surgeon. Dr. McGinn, located in Philadelphia, does the procedure for $4,300 USD: http://drchristinemcginn.com/services/elective/trachealshave.php

The following Thai-Clinic takes between $500 and $1,600 for a Tracea Shave: http://www.bcoss.com/service_cosmetic_plastic_surgery_bangkok_thailand/cosmetic_plastic_gender_surgery/Trachea%20shave%20surgery.html
On the other hand, the mere trip to Thailand makes it quite costy counted altogetherly.

Dr. Spiegel in Boston takes $2500 for a Shave.

I do know that there are surgeons that take as little as $900 for a Shave, but unfortunately I do not know which one/s.

I will inform you if I find anything cheaper, although perhaps the best would be if you snooped around a bit yourself, given that you knows the best were you live. :P

Good luck.:)

Heels help, they elongate the leg and prevent the golf club look as feet seem smaller.   I cycle quite a lot as that tones legs and helps with shape.  Hormones soften the body and move fatty tissue about quite abit which will also help.  Not all Women have great legs.  Improve the bits you can and use fashion to disguise the bits you can't.  If you don't like your knees, don't wear low denier stockings or mini skirts.

OMG what on earth. Those prices are crazy! And i was sure Dr. Spielgal would have been $15,000+. Maybe i got it confused with vocal surgery? I was looking into that as well. I know it's a risky procedure.

This is great news i may be able to get other procedures alot faster then. : )

I am on hormones since 28th March 2011. I am male to female too. I have the same problem with my knees may be with a bit bigger lower legs. I`d like to say that so far I am seeing some change about my legs, knees are a bit less defined. When I think that I actually will be on hormones whole my life, yeah! There will be a lot of change on everything about me.

Just patience I suppose :)

and I think you will a very pretty girl, believe me, you don`t have a masculine featured face.

Good luck
