Has anyone noticed with being on HRT, you can sleep much longer and want to sleep much longer?! I have been on HRT for like 5 months now and I cannot seem to sleep enough, I have to force myself to wake-up on weekend when I dont have work. It's like 9 hours isn't enough sleep.haha

I wonder if because your body is going through a second puberty that explains why I am always hungry and sleeping a lot. That's how it was when I was in my teens and going through my genetic first puberty, I could eat tons and wanted to sleep 9-10 hours per. night to feel completely rested. Just wondering if any of you noticed this too or if I am just crazy. :) Thanks.

I've noticed this too - however, I don't know if it would make a difference being on estrogen or testosterone.

I do sleep much more and more soundly now than before HRT. Pretty much like a log every night, which is one of the benefits.

Generally testosterone gives you more energy... it's possible that females here are just experiencing the regular fatigue a woman would get from not having nearly as much testosterone as a male.

I know before HRT I could function (drudgingly) on 4 hours of sleep with just about as much efficiency as with 6-8 hours. Now if I don't get at least 6 hours I am the most scatter brained bimbo on the planet.

^^^Ditto. I am also MTF and the same way. I could function Pre-HRT on a few hours of sleep, but now, I have to at least get 7 hours in a night or I am not worth ANYTHING for the day, I am useless.haha I can sleep like a rock now, I never wake-up and can sleep for 10 hours If I wanted to, before HRT, I would never sleep more than 8 hours, crap, I could sleep 12 hours now.haha

I did hear that too much sleep for anyone is a bad thing and you should avoid more than 9 hours per. night.

lol Star! No kidding... if I got 8 hrs of sleep pre HRT it's because I hadn't slept in 3 days. Now 8 hrs is what I get when I don't have to wake up for anything in the morning!

More sleep, except at the beginning.  The full dose of Spiro in the beginning had me getting up every 2-3 hours to urinate.  That and the more lucid dreams I was getting was getting hard to discount the fiction from the truth.  I slept 12 hours last night after a couple of all nighters with my telescope.  I used to get only 2-6 hours sleep nightly.

More sleepy time...
Plus less time addicted to sex...

Equals a possible net win for my productivity!  :)

Actually 8-9 hours of sleep is the recommend min. Sleeping longer then 9 hours is alot better for you mentally and physically, it's when you stay in bed for extremely long periods of time that it can become harmful.

I def sleep more now on HRT then before. While you sleep your body repairs it's self so think of it as beauty sleep!  :D
