Transvestites have become a new threat to the marriage institution, with sex-change surgeries becoming more affordable to men who want to look like beautiful, alluring women, Metro Ahad reported.

Former Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim) family, social and community assistant director Zawiyah Hassan told the daily an increasing number of mak nyah are flirting with married men without fear of society's backlash.

Zawiyah said it was not surprising to hear of straight men leaving their wives or girlfriends to have affairs with these transvestites, who are said to be more tender, loving and caring in their ways than normal women.

I had not heard the term "mak nyah" before.  According to several sources, the mak nyah are male-to-female transsexuals, akin to the Thai "kathoey," rather than "transvestites" as stated in the article.

While I can't agree with such a sweeping statement, I wonder if this chap has considered the implications of what he claims?

I agree- "tender", "loving", and "Caring" is truly exaggerations in many cases.

However on the other hand I do understand what he refers to, as many MTF's, and especially in the East, truly put their Souls into being "more" females than cis-females. A statement that certainly all trans-persons have heard about MTF's even in the West World aswell, atleast once.
It is easy to say; "Oh it's just stereotypes", but I disagree about that. Partly, because MTF's often have many surpressed feelings in the luggage, and not the least, dreams of being "THE Girl", and, not to forget, because many MTF's also may feel that they have to "compete" to be viewed as actual females. All factors which gives their result once the MTF transitions and realize her dream.
Which is also the reason that so many fully heterosexual guys(Not ->-bleeped-<-->-bleeped-<-s) consider MTF's being "More females than cis-females", and that is also the very reason why T-girls not seldomly are the ones that snatches all the guys on a night out.

As for the implications of his statement- Well, yes, there is truly a great "risk" that even more men will now start going after MTF's instead of Bio-chicks.
