For those of you who dont read my blog (why the hell not) I went away for 5 days on a little trip to spain. Just a quick sole searching adventure which resulted in me being drunk for the whole of that time. Anyway, my wife whilst away took it upon her self to inform her parents that I have GID and that I beleive I am a woman in a mans body. Apparently, besause i wasn't there, there resonce was ow well I hope he gets better. Its quite a natural think to happen to a man. (WOT) Well at least they wont be dissopinted if I start HRT. So at least they know and are supportive.

Is this a normal reaction to the new that your daughters husband is a TS?

It depends and it is always 50/50 with each new case.

My now ex-wife's parents immediately moved her out upon learning of my GID.

My first clue is your in-laws are from Spain foreign countries, meaning other than the US {for me} are generally more receptive.

I told my wife's mother over the phone (father passed a few years ago) that I was transitioning. Of all the people I've told, she "gets it" the most. She was and is totally supportive. My OWN parents haven't called me a single time since finding out a few months ago - except for one call to accuse me of being "coerced" into doing this, and to doubt that I've really felt this way since childhood. I told them I was in severe emotional trouble, suicidal, etc. So they basically left me to die as far as I'm concerned.

But my mom-in-law has been great, always checking on me, always asking how I am... we've had some great long chats about it all which has really helped, and which I *deeply* appreciate considering what I'm "doing" to her daughter.

Thank you all for your replys, My parents in law are not old infact I would put them in the 45 - 48 bracket and they are not spanish the also live in the uk. I just went away for a few days to have a good think about life, away from work and home life. If was a good thing to do because I came backk quite refreshed and reeady to fight another day.

Its been a week now since they were told and they have not mentioned it again, since I see her farther every day thats is fine. I dont want to discuss this with them any way.

My problem is I really dont think that they understand what they that been told, there not stupid but I dont think that my wife told them that I dont want to transition. I dont even know that yet. Not 100%.

So there you go, Im out, just my parents to go. I think I'll wait a while for that one.

How do I aproch the subject with her parents now? Or should I just leave it for a while?
