I have been reading this group for the past month; what a great group and a great group of ladies! I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.
My name is Barbara Ann. I am a 54 year old TG woman who is just beginning the uncovering of her true self. I have been on self-prescribed HRT for a little over a month now. I have also had good, albeit s-l-o-w, success with electrolysis using the One Touch. I don't dress now; funny, but I never really got into dressing much. For me, I just wanted who I see in the mirror to match who I know I am in my heart.
Again, thanks for this group and all the thoughtful posts! I hope to be a supportive member.

You have found a wonderful place to be supported in your "uncovering" of your true self. As I'm sure you know things are never easy and a good support system is crucial. Susan's can be one of those places where you'll find some of the support you need.

A good support system will also challenge you in a loving way so you don't risk going too far too fast or hurt yourself or others needlessly.

I'm fairly new here too (just over 2 weeks). I jumped (actually more like wadded) right in, no lurking for this gal. I got the message loud and clear and I agree that self medicating HRT is not a good idea. I'm glad someone informed me af the risks early and I hope you'll heed their advice too. Don't take the challenges personally they (we) are just wanting you to be safe.

I'm still searching for a therapist to help me on the journey. Let's keep each other up to date on our progress and challenge each other to do it safely -  both for our physical and mental health.

Please do get a doctor for your HRT.
Self-prescribed HRT is very dangerous and can damage your health.
I am 56 and TS in the early stages of change too.
