I'm basically excited about it.  I'm not so thrilled however at the prospect of paying $10,000 or so.

I've had a difficult time finding feedback information on him.  Has anyone had top surgery with Dr. Steinwald or know anyone who has?

I am, in late March. It's only (hah, I say only) 8250 for me, I think, but my consultation was last year so I got last year's rate. I basically liked him, but he was pretty... brusque? He talked really fast, and like he had a prepared speech to get through for each question I asked him. I'm going to him because he's the most local (only 45 minutes away), and because he uses the pedicle technique. I can link you to a blog of someone who had their top surgery with him; it was a really good resource for me.

Thanks, I'd appreciate the link to the blog.  Yeah the money problem is a big problem but I can't let it sway me forever.  I want to get on with my life.

I'll let everyone know my thoughts when I get back from the appointment

Thanks for the links everyone.  Well the visit went well considering.  The office was very clean, homey and comfortable.  The front desk staff seemed very respectful and not phased by much.  The doctor himself was professional and went through the whole procedure with me.  He went through it extremely fast but he gave me his notes so I can review it all later.  He said because I'm thin it will be relatively easy and the scaring should be minimal.

Unfortunately it's just going to be about $8,500 with an overnight hospital stay.  I really hate that money is getting in the way of this.  I can feel my binder all day long and it's a bad constant reminder.  I just want to be done with it all but it might be awhile still.  Very frustrating and I wish there was a way to get what I need.
